When I first saw the drop, I Got quite worried to be honest:lol:

No need to worry about Dunkirk cause it's a beast (pun intended) dom and OS and one of 2 most solid Picture nominee potentials (second is Get Out) from pre-festival release. All around success. :bravo:

very strong number for Annabelle.  Sausage Party only increased 10.9% on Tuesday to 4.93 million after dropping 52.5% on Monday to 4.44. (34.26 weekend for SP vs 35.01 for Annabelle.....w/o previews 30.96 SP vs 31.01 A2)             Sausage Party also dropped only 17.9% on its opening Sunday, so its 52.5% drop Monday was amazing.  Sausage Party's first Monday was 39.0% of its first Saturday.  Sausage Party's first Tuesday was 43.2% of its first Saturday.

The Monday number for Annabelle is 31.0% of the number it made on Saturday.  For it to have the same Tues/Sat ratio that Sausage Party had on its first Tuesday, it would have to increase 39.5% today to 5.05 million.  HIGHLY UNLIKELY.

Looking at Wednesday comp., Sausage Party's first Wednesday was 29.5% of its first Saturday so if Annabelle has the same Wed/Sat ratio, it would make 3.44 million.  Again, highly unlikely, but Sausage Party declined 24.3% on Wednesday from Monday.  Usually ALL tentpoles average a 20% drop.  You can go through 50 examples and it seems the Wed/Mon ratio can be 0.8 flat.

So the most plausible scenario is it DOES have the bad Wed/Mon ratio like Sausage Party had and a weekday multiplier of 3.5444 of its Monday gives it 12.83 million during its weekdays.  That gives it a 7-day total of 47.84 million.  It should pass 60M by next Saturday or Sunday.  Too bad Polaroid got moved.  I thought it was going to be the Don't Breathe sleeper of the summer.  I had it knocking Annabelle down another 50+ % in my preseason notes.  Oh well.

I am surprised I found this thread so fast.  I am so use to it being 'Moeday'....the last few weeks I spent hours searching these forums for the Monday numbers because i kept looking for Moeday

But there are 2 Mondays in the title to compensate.

it does not matter though.  My mind is already made up that it is Moeday.  I got lucky finding this thread.  Usually if something horrific was happening with a sign that says "MONDAY" on it, I would not notice, because my mind is made up.  If someone offered me $1 million dollars to convince me that it is Monday and not Moeday I would bark at them.  There is only one answer that matters and that is the answer that I want it to be and nothing else in anyone elses reality will convince me otherwise.

If we had normal Monday last week, it would be a 37% drop last week and this one (if they had identical weekly drops)...so, for next week, we should look to see if Dunkirk stays around that type of week-to-week drop...

Dunkirk should do a little bit above 4x its Monday number.  4.1 Monday multiplier times the 1.31 Monday gives 5.37 million for the weekdays and 158.56 million total on Thursday.  A 31.6% drop on Dunkirk's fifth weekend to 7.44 million can bring the total up to 166.00 with two more weekend left in the summer.

weekdays 8/21 - 8/24 = 3.35 million

weekend #6 - 8/25-27 = 30.8% drop to 5.15 million.

weekdays 8/28 - 8/31 = 2.3 million.

weekend #7 = 4-day weekend = about 4.76 million 3-day (-7.5%) and 6.2 4-day = 183 end of Labor Day Monday.
