I guess that's not horrible for HMB.  It's not an existing property so the rush factor shouldn't be too great.  Hoping for 18-20 million.

Recent Preview / OWs (multiplier - HB's OW with the multiplier)

VAL 1.7 / 17.01 (10x - 16.5

ATOMIC 1.52 / 18.29 (12x - 19.8)

DARK TOWER 1.8 / 19.15 (10.6x - 17.5)

Hopefully closer to AB than Val.

Should be about a $20M opening for The Hitman's Bodyguard since I doubt it's very frontloaded. Competition coming up is really light so it should have decent staying power for a $60-70M total, which would make it the second biggest comedy of the year behind Girls Trip (remember when R-rated comedies were surefire moneymakers? Those days feel long ago).

What if THB follows in Central Intelligence's footsteps

Ride Along 2 did only 1.26M and 1 did about 1M.  Central intelligence a bit over 1.8M.  Hopefully it gets on any of those tracks...even partly

In comparison to some comedies like central intelligence?

If you compare it to other action comedies that had previews in that range, it's looking at high 20s, low 30s.

I personally would not bet on that happening though.

It is selling really well for matinees here. Did 40 tickets for the 11AM and already has 38 for 1PM. But that's just one theater lol

So right now I'd say high teens

Good news is that HB has 3 low-competition weeks : ow + mon-thu + 2nd weekend + mon-thu + 3rd weekend + mon-wed = 20 days before IT's Thu previews.
