Yes, but as in live action too. Sony uses a different iteration of Spider-Man while Marvel keeps Peter Parker and most well known villains.

I wonder if Sony and Marvel have set aside characters that can be used in the MCU films and others for the Sony films. I think Carnage would be one of them as well as Morbius.
