Venom | 5 OCTOBER 2018 | Sony | Tom Hardy is Venom. Social Media reactions coming in

Yes, but JL was coming before Venom and nothing to til recently.

I still have my doubts about JL. They need to properly establish enough JL members to actually pull it off. So far, they have only been able to establish their big 2: Superman and Batman. Even if they get Wonder Woman off the ground, they still need 1 or 2 more members, and they hurt themselves badly with Green Lantern.

I would make him a villain in a Spider-Man film first. Then, turn him into an anti-hero in another Spider-Man movie by introducing Carnage as the villain.

Carnage and Venom tag-team as the villain for TASM2 would be awesome.

Tolmach said this is a cousin to Spider-Man. Eddie Brock would be the here til Parker is introduced.

Arad:

As you know, Venom is defender of the innocent. The only guy he really, really hates is Peter Parker, Spider-Man. The reason you didn’t see more development on Venom in the comics is because this power that he was given, he knew who Peter was, he knew who Spider-Man was, so go kill him already ... We’ve been sitting around in a room talking about Venom stories and it’s a really full bodied complicated character, Eddie Brock and this character. Maybe people feel there wasn’t enough of a chance to unravel it, but we’re all in on him.

He says he thought of the Venom crossover possibility independently of Avengers though.

Tolmach sees a big possibility for a SM/Venom crossover, but not yet.

They are working on Venom first, its their first out.

They're following Fox's strategy of constant reboots and spin offs to secure the movie rights to Marvels biggest characters.Yeah Marvel/Disney are never going to get those rights back.At least Sony seems open to putting Spider-man in Avengers. It seems Avengers's success caused them to reconsider keeping their characters separate. Hopefully Fox will warm up to the marketing potential too and we can see Fantastic Four and X-men characters make appearances in Marvel Studio films. It would be the huge victory for Marvel fanboys.

The more I think about it, more it makes more sense to introduce Norman Osborn in TASM or TASM 2 but not make him the villain for TASM 2, creating the build up for TASM 3. Using Venom in TASM 2 would guarantee that Emma is still alive for the 3rd part, and also make for some INSANE scenes, since Venom when written well can be one of the best Spider-Man villains. After that, they'd use Goblin for the 3rd film and hopefully there's still a second trilogy with Garfield as Peter, if they keep the sequels at the pace they are thinking now it's completely possible. A Spider-Man and Venom team up against Venom for the first film of the second trilogy would also be extremely cool, but then again Carnage is just a more psychopath version of Venom.
