Spider-Man: Homecoming

July 10, 3:50 PM, 5% full

Regal Hunt Valley Stadium 12, Hunt Valley, MD

Trailers:

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (murmurs)

Wish Upon (murmurs)

Daddy's Home 2 (small laughs)

Pitch Perfect 3 (laughs)

The Lego Ninjago Movie

War for the Planet of the Apes (murmurs)

The Dark Tower (murmurs)
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (laughs)

Laughter throughout the movie at appropriate moments.  About halfway through, some people walked into the wrong theater, and about 15 minutes until the end of the movie, two kids walked in, sat down for 5 minutes, then left because they asked me how far into the movie we were and I said it was almost done (lmao).

Okay I saw SM on it's opening day and it was odd-there were only about 12 people in the theater! (Granted other showings were more crowded-there was a IMAX showing about 30 minutes after that and another showing about 20 minutes earlier)

Anyway it was pretty good, can't remember all the trailers right now-I don't remember them being that great though-oddly there were no superhero trailers!

Planet of the Apes "Triple" Feature

July 12, 4:00 PM, less than 5% full

Regal Hunt Valley Stadium 12, Hunt Valley, MD

Trailers:

None before any show.  Before the third one, they showed like 15 seconds of the Kidnap trailer before they cut to the movie.

No reactions for the first two movies.  25 minutes into the third one and the screen freezes and the movie stops playing, so I got a refund and left.

Yeah, it was pretty shitty.

Now, if the theater fucked up Valerian?  I'd be fuming.

War for the Planet of the Apes.

5:00. 3D Showing. Me and 3 other people in the largest auditorium at the theater I saw it at.

Trailers:

Kingsman: The Golden Circle

Murder on the Orient Express

Dunkirk

Atomic Blonde

Daddy's Home 2

The Dark Tower

Detroit

Whoever was running the projector forgot to put on the lens for the 3D so the first 10 minutes of the movie was playing without the 3D effects actually working. I had to go get somebody to fix it. Only one or two moments got chuckles from the audiences, it was dead silent pretty much throughout.

War for the Planet of the Apes 3D

July 15, 6:00 PM, 80% full

AMC Starplex Loudoun 11, VA

Trailers:

Detroit

Daddy's Home 2

American Made

The Dark Tower

Blade Runner 2049

The Shape of Water

Murder on the Orient Express

Kingsman: The Golden Circle

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets 3D

The American Made trailer I got with my showing is a completely different trailer than the one online. Also the Valerian trailer has convinced me to watch it in 3D.

Reactions

Pretty silent for most of the runtime. A lot of laughs at the comedic relief. Also crying. There was also applause at the end! Something I very rarely see.

The Film

This film is fantastic! So many incredible moments! I was blown away by the characters, the story, and the visual effects. Andy Serkis gives an incredible performance. There hasn't been any other movie this year that made me cry like a bitch like this one. One of the best movies of the year so far! 10/10.

Is it me or do they rarely play Justice League trailers...

Its like the trailers in theater are non-existent...

Ever since the trailer was sent to theaters, it's only been an option in three mixes:

F8

Wonder Woman

Spider-Man

Normally studios don't clutter the trailer pool with more than 2-3 trailers on a given movie, and WB still has plenty left to release before JL. They'll request placement for movies that will be out sooner.
