This is my first time reporting about a crowd and it has been a while since I saw the movie but here goes nothing.

Dunkirk (Standard Screen, 7/20/17 Thursday preview screenings)

Previews (I don't remember the exact order but I'll try to remember each film.)

The Darkest Hour

Good Time

Only The Brave

Geostorm

The Snowman

Murder of the Orient Express

Justice League

Most audience members seemed to be in their twenties and thirties. The audience was focused on the film for sure, and they clapped at the end of the movie. When I was leaving the theater, I overheard a young woman say to her friends, "I'm shook!"

Darkest Hour: Chuckles at one line and a lot of murmurs

A Ghost Story

August 3, 10:10 AM, me and 1 other guy

Barnstorm Theater

Trailers:

Good Time

Woodshock

Detroit

Kidnap

Brigsby Bear

There was dead silence for the trailers and film itself.

Detroit

August 4, 10:30 AM, 5% full in a 78 seat auditorium

AMC Lake Square 12

Trailers:

American Assassin

mother!

American Made

Only the Brave

The Mountain Between Us

Blade Runner 2049

The Foreigner

Death Wish

The theater was dead silent until about 10-15 minutes before the film ended when an old couple entered the wrong auditorium (the next showing of Detroit was starting next door). They were entering my row, and I had to tell them this is the wrong show. You'd think people would look at the display, or better yet, THE FUCKING SCREEN WHEN A PIVOTAL MOMENT IS HAPPENING

The Lion King Rerelease # idk 8? Turns out it WAS the sing a long, Fandango just shoved both versions under the same banner for my theater, so, crapshoot!

It was me and two other people.

Trailers

Coco

The actual lyrics on screen were done fairly worse than they were for Moana, they took up like 1/6th of the screen and had distracting animations sometimes. I did like the changing of the colored letters depending on the song. There were also a few cuts that seemed rather....hastily moved? Some stuff that lasted about two seconds before switching over to another part of the scene? And the part with Scar telling the Hyenas to just eat Zazu, it looked like those frames were out of focus for those few seconds.

This isn't my favorite Disney movie but the more I see it, the more I simply appreciate it.

Girls Trip

1:15 PM

At first I was alone in the theater and excited for it, but when more people filtered in...I got more excited. I really wanted to see the reactions of other people.

During the preshow, the visuals stopped but the audio kept going so I thought we got a trailer for mother! but it was just an ad. Then the Regal "Shut the fuck up" splash screen came up and froze, but everything proceeded without issues after that

Trailers

Pitch Perfect 3 - You know the part everyone laughed at. It's the only laugh this thing ever gets.

Annabelle Creation - when the person put the mask up to their face I went "Phantom of the Opera?" and someone behind me laughed.

A Madea Halloween 2

The Mountain Between Us

A Bad Moms Christmas

The audience was hugely receptive to this. I couldn't even hear bits of dialogue because people were having a BLAST. Some of the older ladies way behind me were quiet (wonder what they expected....)

Spoiler

Every time the side piece came on the screen the audience AS A WHOLE went "UH OH!"
