Who loves AVATAR most?

The theoretical values in million $ are the grosses of AVATAR corrected for the Hollywood-Blockbuster-market size in each country. This size is determined by the sum of the 15 biggest Holllywood blockbusters of 2011 (local blockbuster are not taken into account) The table is sorted descending by this theoretical value. AVA is the gross of AVATAR in million $ in each country.

Europe dominates. Again it has nothing to do with wealth or high cinema frequency - just the relative performance of AVATAR in each market. If the Americans would have loved it the same way we did, FOX would force James Cameron do make the sequel.

Avatar Spanish number is just astonishing (it ranks second in all time adjusted, only behind Titanic - 9 million admissions vs 11 million of Titanic)

BRAZIL BOX OFFICE 2012 (FOR THE MOMENT)1.The Avengers : $63.8m2.Ice Age 4 : $46.3m3.The Amazing Spiderman : $30.4m4.Madagascar 3 : $28.5m5.The Dark Knight Rises : $26.7m

This is exactly the same case than we have talked in Mexico thread. 6 movies over 20 million and about 75 over 1 million, the same than Mexico. And with the same numbers in the main blockbusters: 60 million for the highest, 40 for the second and 30 for the third. Curious coincidences. Very similar markets, right now over some big European markets like Spain or Italy. And the growth will continue.

I am not entirely sure that is correct. Bo.com reports " beating Casino's opening by 130% and Quantum's by 37%." That would indicate 3-4m opening.Might be a typo.... we will need to wait till tomorrow.

correct about $us3-3.3m, 6.5 probably initial est in Local Curr.

Whatever the expansion be, a 40% increase in OW makes more sense than a 200% increase from the previous installment.

Brazil had a yearly growth beyond 20%, so 200% can be high, but not unlikely.$6m isn't an OW record in Brazil. Edited by Fullbuster
