Very poor Mon-Thu performances. Huevos reached 4M audience and US$10M, MM2 had the best hold.

Update: TH2 was released yesterday but didn't do too well ... would it have enough laughs to conquer the weekend #1 spot? Also,the ER is going up and down and all around!

Actually HT2 opened today it's weird that they had it... the showing I went of HT2 was packed should do really solid business here, The Visit also opens here this weekend, I think it's going to do solid business.

 

The Martian, The Intern and Snowpiercer (I guess in limited release) open next weekend.

Thursdays were only limited previews for HT2, it had a really big OW! Deadline reports:

 

Hotel T2 dominated the weekend with 65% market share and including previews grossed $7.9M from 3,038 screens — Sony’s biggest opening ever for the market and 182% ahead of the original.

 

Different scenario for The Visit: Mexico, which usually embraces the horror genre, opened to No. 5 with $700K at 419 runs.

Weekend numbers in! HT2 did great, virtually same OW in pesos as Inside Out. Will it reach a 4x multiplier like the Disney original?

Huevos deflated by a direct vampire impact, while MR2 is really slowing down and US$10M may be the limit.

HT2 is doing pretty good business here! Should have good legs since there is not any new animated movie til the Good Dinosaur and The Little Prince at the end of November!

 

Hope The Martian has good legs, I think it will.
