JAPAN BOX OFFICE | Demon Slayer breaks all time record for OW

Recommended Posts

I'm still updating the second post so everything isn't completely updated (the admissions section is now, however). The one you saw was the copy/paste I did from my other thread (outdated).Titanics number comes from an article on Spirited Away's 115th day in release when it surpassed Titanic in admissions.

But then the average ticket price from Eiren is significantly lower than what it should be (for 1998 anyway).

Great start for MIB 3. The estimate gives it the sixth biggest opening of the year, and second biggest for a Hollywood film. It opened on Friday, so it's 3-day total likely exceeded 600 million yen ($7.5 million) as well.

I'll wait for the actual in the morning before calling any locks, but at least 3 billion yen (about $40 million) looks pretty good with this figure.

Yet another incredible number for Thermae Romae. It's multiplier has already at 10, and it still has the best PSA in the Top 10 by a wide margin. I seriously doubt it doesn't reach 5 billion yen ($65 million+) or more at this pace. It may even surpass M:I4 to become the highest grossing film of the year before the big blockbusters are released later this Summer/Fall.

Pretty good drop for Dark Shadows. Definitely seems on track for 2-2.5 billion yen ($25-30 million).

So-so for Girl. Much too early to predict where it may end up because the majority of it's ticket sales will come every Wednesday (Ladies Day).

Corpse:

"Actuals are way up for MIB 3 (due to a higher than expected 3D share).

Over the weekend, it mobilized 372,967 people to gross 573,569,900 yen ($7.3 million) on 979 screens. It's 3D share was 64.9% to give it an average ticket price of 1,537 ($19.4). It also set a new screen count record.

That's enough for the third biggest opening this year (sixth in admissions), and the biggest opening for a Hollywood film (second in admissions) edging out M:I4 by 0.1%(!). And since Friday, it has grossed 701,885,000 yen ($8.8 million) with 461,651 admissions.

This should be a high enough debut for it to reach 3.5 billion yen ($44 million), and now puts 4 billion yen ($50 million) in play."

Japan

Men in Black 3 (2D): $7,161,565 from 980 locations. Location avg. = $8,846. Territory cume = $5,050,897

Something is wrong, the total cume can't be lower than the weekend number, and MIB3 is in 3D.
