It will be a very close race.I think BaTB can reach 100M in JPN which will uktinateky take it to 1.2B.FF8 needs to top 1B OS to top a 1.2B BaTB(considering F8 will earne around 230M DOM) and that there's a 50/50 chance it will get there.I'm rooting for BaTB.

If BATB does anywhere close to 100m in Japan, it will easily easily cross 1.2b ww.

True. It's at 1.045B now and US alone should give it 30M more. The rest of the markets will easilly get it to 1.1B and then JPN will do all the work. But it's a really big if.

Does anyone know what's BatB OS now without/before Japan? Did it reach 600M?

From Screendaily:

"Disney’s live-action powerhouse Beauty And The Beast crossed $600m through Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International on Wednesday and stands at $602.5m. The fantasy musical opens in Japan this weekend."

I doubt the franchise is popular in Japan since the first movie was about Japanese occupation of China...

And this one was released so late..... And i heard in very very limited number of theaters.

According to http://mimorin2014.blog.fc2.com/ which @Olive used earlier...

At 22:23:

Beauty and the Beast at 259,609 admissions, or rather 654M yen. As Olive said before, evening shows are strong with this one!
