That project, once announced will generate a lot of buzz in certain geek communities, as it’s going to surprise a lot of people for what it is and what it’s not. But it’s in the very early embryonic stage and it depends on how well the project is received upon the presentation that is being prepared for John [Lasster] and Ed [Catmull].The projects competing for 2014/2015 are the uber-secret film from Don Hall, which will be a marvelously unexpected project if it ever gets the green light, and Nathan Greno and Byron Howard’s films which are deep in development.It’s going to surprise a lot of people for what it is and what it’s not.

Although a seemingly reliable source revealed this news yesterday, Entertainment Weekly now confirms that Disney is working on an animated feature based on the little known Marvel team, Big Hero 6. The film is apparently in the early stages of development, although the studio refused to comment on which filmmakers are involved at this point. Created in 1998, Big Hero 6 is a Japanese team sanctioned by the government. The roster originally included X-Men characters Sunfire and Silver Samurai, although it seems far more likely that this version will focus on the younger team who most recently made an appearance an "Ends of the Earth" Amazing Spider-Man tie-in comic book.

Silver Samurai and Sunfire part of the X-Men property, so they wouldnt be in the movie as their rights are held by Fox.

I think since it's such an obscure property the studio can go nuts with the inherent concept.Think about it: Japan's greatest heroes and archetypes joining forces. Think Avengers except with mechs, giant monsters, robots, ninjas, galactic princesses, sentai warriors...the international appeal is through the roof. And since it's animated it can be one big homage to anime, manga and Japanese cinema.
