Ariadne
Gwendoline Christie is 6'3, so yeah, she's perfect for the role.I was rooting for her to be cast and was so glad she was - by far the best fit for the role.
4815162342
I was hoping we'd see more of Brienne than her back so we get to see a better indication of her look. But she definitely has the size.We saw what looked like two different rehearsals for fights in King's Landing. My guess is: The one with the Kingsguard milling around and some peasantry people is the King's Landing riot scene. The one with Sandor fighting some armor dude with a big hammer is probably part of the epic Battle of the Blackwater.

DAR
^^^^ You know every time I see your gif in addition to laughing because it's such a great scene, I can't help but think that was the little kid in Batman Begins.
4815162342
I couldn't believe it was that kid when I first found that out. Can't wait to see how Jack Gleeson handles Joffrey's psycho dictator scenes this season.
4815162342
Here is the brief Season 2 teaser. It's basically a Stannis Baratheon voiceover showing glimpses of most of Season 2's major characters, but it's good to give us an indication of what ol' Stannis sounds like (and he sounds close to damn perfect. Book readers take notice of the fact that the final seconds of the teaser included 3 horn blasts. Huge hint right there that the Book 3 prologue will be the Season 2 cliffhanger. Ariadne
That was very brief. I wish we could see Stannis talking.I think that teaser could be confusing to those who haven't read the books - they should have established who Stannis was a bit more. Ariadne
Game of Thrones has been nominated for two Golden Globes - Best Drama Series and Best Supporting Actor for Peter Dinklage.http://winter-is-coming.net/2011/12/game-of-thrones-garners-two-golden-globe-noms/It's also been nominated for two SAG Awards - Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series and Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series.http://winter-is-coming.net/2011/12/game-of-thrones-nominated-for-2-sag-awards/I think it might have a chance for Best Drama Series at the Golden Globes - it's up against Broadwalk Empire, Homeland, American Horror Story and Boss. 4815162342
Even though Season 2 hasn't come out yet, I'm looking ahead to future character appearances. One of my dream castings would be Dominic West as Mance Rayder. That'd be so great if it happened since the role is significant but also sporadic enough in appearances so that casting a sizable name wouldn't be cost-prohibitive. 4815162342
It seems like most people in this forums like fantasy/adventure.It's a very, very broad genre so is that really suprising? The first season of this show is an epic "period" political drama/thriller that happens to have some fantasy aspects here and there. Only action, crime, romance and mystery are my btv favorite.
