For MlK weekend, if say (for example) Wedding Ringer opens to 37M 3-day and 46M 4-day, is that counted as a 40M OW? Or does it have to be 3-day?

Still, I think we may get 2 in January (Tak3n, Wedding Ringer and American Sniper all have chances, but at least 1 will fall short).

3-day only.

I didn't run Frozen's year lol

I pretty sure I didn't put it as an opening if I did

I'm just going to call BS on that. When we talk about OW we mean the wide opening, technically it did expand, but it went from 5 theaters to a massive wide release. It's not like Grand Budapest which added and lost and added theaters throughout its run, it's pretty evident that this weekend was its opening.

I don't really care if AS counts as 2014 or 2015 but it counts as an over 40m OW, there is no controversy in that.

Tell that to Chasmmi and the Winter Game.

The real opening weekend for AS was last weekends. It only went to platform theaters (4 theaters) through Holidays. An expansion is what films like Wild have done. Look at Opening weekends rank: it has been already counted as best January and Winter opening ever.
