I find it strange that Thrylos still hasnt commented on how bad the JW number is. That jump clearly means that it has awful WOM right?

The Lion King and Avatar 2 will do it first. Those are animated right?

@EmpireCity really just came back and in a matter of seconds gave us the numbers for the top 7 movies....even the ones that made under $1M

He’s too busy ranting about the critics bias for “horrendous” and “mediocre” Ghostbusters 2016 in the Ant-Man and The Wasp thread.

Unless you planned your vacation/personal days to take a long w/e it's a regular work day. Thur #s should on avg come in a bit below Monday

Based on CGV, the same as, if not slightly better, than Infinity War

For some people , Disney is seen as the evil empire but I'd like to sea the theater market place without them. We d be left with A24, Annapurna & Fox Searchlight movies. Let that sink it for a second. Scary prospect, more than a Blumhouse joint.

JW2 is definitely not as bad as those 4 transformers( I say four bc I liked the first one), and it’s critical rating although mixed is much higher than Transformers 2-5.

Hm. That 39% increase made no sense given how the schedule typically behaves. Tag’s muted increase compared to the last two weeks further complicates things.

Kinda related but the only reason the cast of The Abyss trooped on despite the crazy work conditions is because Jim spent twice as long in that tank then them.

Didn't get to check the 7:05 showing, but this is what my theater looks like: Purge 8:15: 59/108 Purge 10:00: 34/49 The 10 showing might get a sellout.

@Pure Spirit I'm expecting Alita to make over a $1b ww, people actually acting like this Christmas rabble going to be able to stand up to Jim. Today England won in penalties.. the good guys win in the end. How can you go against Jim???? Against Avatar 2?? Madness
  20. 2 points
Of course not, for example he doesn't the massive (unearned) ego of a James Gunn. Dude has "directed" two MCU movies and thinks he is the new Cameron. But maybe Johnson should stop trolling the trolls for a while. Then again, social media are here to stay; maybe this attitude will become more common if some "fans" remain so hateful.

I am indifferent towards Teller. I am indifferent towards this casting. I am indifferent towards this movie. I am indifferent.

My guess for The Purge: 10M (4x previews like Election Year) 4M (-60%) 5.2M (+30%) 6.2M (+20%) 4.6M (-25%) 16M 3 Day/30M 5 day I have no clue what the preview to OD multi could be today. Cashing in on the holiday seems to be leading to some frontloading, and The Purge and Election Year both dropped in the mid-to-high 30s on their first Saturdays. It's bound to have a 50%+ drop tomorrow.

So what you’re saying is over Ant-Man confirmed?
  32. 1 point
The thing is, every single one of those are more Presales heavy than Ant Man and the Wasp will be
  33. 1 point
This isn't surprising. The anonymity of the Internet gives people the ego that allows them to think they have the go-ahead to be an asshole without consequence. But karma will come for them someday.

Here for this cast but ugh Roland Emmerich. Dude's been on a decline even by his standards.

This project is reuniting her with the director of Ghost in the Shell so one probably doesn't need a crystal ball to predict this won't end well either way.

2007 is not comparable in the least other than to see how screen counts work, the market has changed so much it's crazy. The biggest difference between today and 2012 is the explosion in the already decent cheap Tuesdays (then). I think the increases on both days will be rather moderate and even keeled versus crazy on Tuesday with decent upswing on Wednesday but we shall see.

I'm older than even you baumer, when I was in my teens/early twenties I went through at least 2 a day, and still aim to average a movie a day as I've said before, but when on holiday and at weekends, I can sometimes get through 5 or 6 a day.

I agree with @Morieris. There's a lot of really good parts here but they kind of go nowhere. There's some kind of pen worth millions, and none of it is explored. The cop thing, same thing. And how Nurse finds out that the Wolf King killed her son is so very random. Charlie Day's character doesn't really do much either. Still it's mildly entertaining and Foster is a hoot. Bautista stands out as well. But over all,it's kind of disappointing. 6/10
