  1. EXXXXXCUSE ME How the hell is this Steve’s fault!? Steve Rogers has never done anything wrong In this life*** omg. I GET that it might be frustrating to watch your fave acting badly, but Wanda is a grown woman. She is making her own decisions. Is it gonna be messy between now and MoM? Oh, yes. But that’s the fun. That’s part of her journey. We can’t just dismiss it. *** this is a complete lie, we all know Steve is That Bitch and it’s why he is iconic, but we’re going to ignore that for a while.

  3. Can I just point out that if something sad happens and I put a haha like on it, it doesn't mean I'm an asshole. it means the sad icon and the haha icon are very similar and I haven't got my glasses on.

  5. I took a class during an MA program at a very well-known university where the Prof (a well-established writer/critic) took us through experimental blendings of Hollywood films from the same release year/era. One night we literally watched THE BODYGUARD overlaid with DANCES WITH WOLVES (!), both audio and visual on top of each other. It was tremendously fascinating to see how movies (with the same star) made in similar years had numerous very similar rhythms, beats, even dialogue! The juxtapositions on American ideology were equally fascinating.

  6. Is Glenn finally going to win an Oscar via Zoom for a movie under 30 percent on Rotten Tomatoes? LMAO Music, really? The HFPA really could have just let Promising Young Woman be a comedy. Mulligan might just go all the way in Best Actress. She'll probably get the Globe. Who knew voters were eager to make sure Leto isn't a one-nominee wonder? Even Warner Bros didn't seem to think they had an awards contender on their hands... Is it really going to be The Trial of the Chicago 7 as our Best Picture? It feels like a Globes Drama winner, at least.

  7. If Lindo misses BAFTA, I'd say he's done and the SAG 5 is the Oscar 5. If he makes it there, he'll make it at the Oscars over Oldman. Mank is WEAK.

  9. Whoa. No lie: I actually have Knives Out on as background noise while working right now. Between that and showing Juno to my film class right before reading that Elliot Page had come out, it’s sure been a time for weirdly coincidental viewing choices on my end. Anyway, RIP. Plummer was a terrific actor and I was especially impressed with how many quality performances he kept churning out in the last decade or so of his life.

  10. I think after Captain Marvel, Fury continued with Shield but also helped Maria create SWORD (with unclear levels of involvement from Carol and Talos). Seems like SWORD had more of a space focus. After TWS, SWORD was left standing while SHIELD wasn’t, probably interfaced with the Avengers during the 5 year timeskip. But you’ve still gotta wonder why we didn’t hear a peep about SWORD from GotG to IW — or from IM1 to TWS to that matter. I think it’s simply going to remain a “feels like they crammed this in retroactively and it doesn’t really fit with previous continuity” sort of thing

  11. Y6 - A HARSHER YEAR THAN NORMAL With Y5 already more down to Earth than previous years (but still some massive hits, like Green Lantern Corps: Rise of the Manhunters, The Scavenger Wars Part II and Two Lonely Bounty Hunters), things were perhaps expected to take a rise in Y6. Instead, however, Y6 turned out to be one of the slowest at the box office during the whole of 3.0. There was still space for some juggernauts hits, however - in particular, one massive, massive hit. Looking first at the bombs, nothing too absurd, but there were four movies that lost over $20 milli

  14. FEBRUARY SCHEDULE When thinking of the schedule for this month, I really wanted to focus on romantic comedies and romances, because I had told @Plain Old Tele after watching The Man Who Would Be King "no more boy movies." LOL. SOUNDER February 4, 2021 / 9:30PM EST In memoriam of Cicely Tyson, who passed away last week at the age of 96, we're going to watch her Academy Award nominated performance in Sounder from 1972. 15. The story is that Albert Pyun's original edit of Captain America was over three and a half hours...but I bet that most of that footage is lost... and he seems to have made his more recent "Director's cut" very hard to find, as well!

  21. @lorddemaxus To put my long-ass post more succinctly: When will Gina Carano be fired? When Variety/THR/Deadline start negatively reporting on her behavior. My long-ass post was pretty much saying what will probably need to occur for the Trades to start reporting on this.

  22. Again, enjoyed the episode just fine. Was entertained. Nothing meaty to dig into, the same as the last two episodes 'look as us being a sitcom' for a majority of it and then a quick tease to the actual plot. I think the key to it, is how entertained and gripped are you by the sitcom aspect of the show (especially because it makes up the bulk of the episode). I was very entertained by Ep.2 and thought I could do with more of this. However Ep.1/3 were very hit or miss for me comedy wise and I found myself just waiting for the larger narrative to kick in. It's the same a
