It was also 30 seats each for BW. Btw, how are you coming up with the $13.50 ATP? Did you use past data from other Marvel movies in Megaplexs? Also, it should be noted that a Megaplex location in downtown Salt Lake City, the Gateway, is undergoing renovations that should wrap up sometime this Summer. It came back up on the drop down list of theaters today, so it might be o

  9. But “took over the entire social media” is a bit of an exaggeration no? Social media has really become small pockets of echo chambers where people don’t understand that outside of their little circle, things aren’t as popular as they are inside (or vice versa). Before this came out, it seemed like the whole internet was talking about this movie, whereas it was rather just a small subgroup of theatre fans and film geeks like us, where the GA didn’t care much. Anecdotal I know, but I work at a theater and I’ve heard nobody even mention any of this backlash when I talk to them, or even

I forgot to add the seat count for a theater, hence the overall seat increase. But there are no tickets sold there so far, which is why I forgot. Nothing exciting, especially since this wasn't a full 24 hour cycle. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

  18. Per Deadline: Lionsgate had two sets of sneak previews over the weekend, with about 275 locations in a Atom Tickets/Snapchat sponsorship and another 1,500 locations which both amounted to $1.8M. Tuesday previews amounted to around $815K. The balance yesterday was $1.3M.

  19. Megaplex F9 T-8 Days Thursday - 667 Friday - 780 Yep this is selling much better on Friday than on Thursday. @Menor data showed Friday strong as well. May be people aren't hot about Thursday, but this is weird because I was wondering if everything is getting super previews heavy. or may be something off with this film on THU in this specific chain. As for raw numbers, THU numbers suggest $950K previews so far, which is a bit lower than most of our tracking suggests.

  21. Yes i agreed, make total sense. The question for me with this movie is that i feel that the main audience they wanted to attract for this movie is very active on social media, especially twitter. So to get backlash on these platforms are bad. I 100% agreed with you that most people from GA doesn't care or even know about this, but the people most inclined to get interested by it seems to know that and aren't happy with it, that's why i think it can hurt the legs.

  22. About 80 on RT is my guess. Anyway I think I will enjoy this, there have been some that I found just decent but I don't think I ever truly didn't enjoy an MCU film that I saw in theaters.

  23. 1. For record, I do think BW will be an average film. So I am not saying Menzel or for that matter anyone saying BW is bad is wrong. 2. What I said is that Menzel has preference for DC films (which is absolutely/perfectly fine, we all are allowed to have preferences). He has some weird (not matching me) takes like FB2 8.5/10, PoTC5 9/10, Captain Marvel 9/10. Due to these "I personally" won't be taking his views seriously. In my original comment I did named FFH as rotten and also mentioned that I actually agree with that.

  25. Although #BlackWidow feels very much like MCU films of the past with its Marvel-patented tone and lackluster villain, it’s bolstered by well-directed action and great leading performances from Johansson and Pugh, whose chemistry is the highlight. Review coming to @DiscussingFilm #BlackWidow pays a beautiful and long overdue tribute to Natasha Romanoff. It’s also the spy thriller fans of the character have been asking for all these years. It’s funny, thrilling and very emotional. Florence Pugh is fantastic as Yelena Belova, who is definitely here to stay.

  26. Love, love, love episode #2...this series is awesome so far! Can't wait for episode #3! PS - And for the record, I don't care if this is in or out of MCU continuity or if it ruins it - it's so good, I don't care - it can be the new continuity. This series reminded me of reading early Bendis comics, who is renowned for taking what continuity he likes, pitching what he doesn't, but making a compelling series so you don't care he plays fast and loose with the material...

  27. Social media embargo lifts tomorrow it seems... That's extremely early, the movie should be pretty good If i can bet, i feel reviews talking more deeply about the action and the spectacle along the story will also be allowed kinda soon to boost pre sales and the "need to see in theaters" vibe.

  30. I feel like this drama around Scott Menzel brutal reaction are overshadowing the great reactions the movie got. He is only one of idk 40 people talking about it, he's the only one with truly bad thoughts about it (and 2 other mixed). All the rest have very good things to talk about it, and are saying the movie delivered pretty much everything people expect, even if it's not perfect obviously. But still people on social media are so focused on Scott that almost feels like the reactions are mixed or something because of him, people really need to stop with this hate train

  31. They, along with Regal and Cinemark, were doing that in movie theaters where rows were too close together and (potentially) violating the six feet social distance restriction. From what I saw locally from Regal and Cinemark, it was in theaters that had stadium seating but did NOT have luxury recliners (or similar seats). Basically it's AMC sticking with social distancing when they don't have to. As I understand it/if I had to guess, they originally did this back in April/earlier as a way of reassuring customers in Florida (and Texas?) where the state governments sudde

  35. Again you misunderstood me bro. I mean sure BW could be actually bad and that person is actually being honest. IDK him so I can't comment on that. What I meant was it is better to know the person before trusting his/her reaction. Like @lorddemaxus shared one reaction which was average one. I looked up other MCU reaction by that critic and her reaction matches with what I felt for those films, so safe to assume that her reaction is more likely to be truer for me than others. Anyhow this is going off, guess I should leave this thread for now.

  39. Reactions aren't really that universally praise bullshit anymore. Remember how everyone freakout when EG reactions aren't a bunch of "greatest movie ever?". Unless you're Warner which choose selected people to talk about the movie until today, reactions are useful. Said that, reception seems pretty good, i found like 3 people tending to more negative so it's probably getting around 85% on RT and +7.0 average, which kinda the expected for MCU.
