  4. Finished quicker than I had estimated. Jungle Cruise MTC2 Thursday Showings: 1550 Seats Sold: 7077/243394 (+2089) Friday Showings: 3159 (+139) Seats Sold: 12855/529537 (+4434) Friday is definitely dominating Thursday at this point. Don't remember a good comp for what this means though, maybe later I'll dig through Jumanji numbers that Keyser posted way back.

  8. @katnisscinnaplex data also shows JC Friday very strong. 4x previews is possible. My guess is something 2-8-9-7 for a $26 million OW. Now TSS will definitely have a higher preview than JC. But it's Friday multi will also be worse. If there isn't a significant bump from reviews tomorrow I could see something like 3.5-8.5-8-6 which...would also be a $26 million OW. In the worst case I could see TSS opening below what JC does which if you told me that a few weeks ago would have been crazy. But I still think it'll probably go higher, though not as high as the Sacramento H&S comp s

  22. LOL Cruella have 97% from audiences on RT, A on Cinemascore, it's the most well received Disney LA on both IMDB and Letterboxd. And of course, 4x multiplier on box office despite being available on D+ I mean, like it or not, it's one of the most well received movies of the year and every data suggest that.

  23. I remembered that it had its first séance today in France (14h) and therefore should have some reviews. Et voilà : TSS has at allocine.fr 6 reviews so far (in the end the films normally have 20-35) with an average of 4/5 (and French critics are pretty harsh IMO, e.g. The Father and Nomadland both had 4/5). The so far only quite negative review is from Le Monde which rated it 2/5 (but BW also had a bad one). Le Figaro and Le Point both rated TSS 4/5 (Suicide Squad 2016 had 1/5 from both of them) and one of the two 5/5 reviews is from Ecran Large (which also gave the 2016 film only 1/5)

So I wonder if they bought the whole franchise, or they just bought this theater. Either way, thank the ever loving God. AND PS. Those poor posters 🥺

  33. Returning From Hell The other piece in the "Awkwafina's up for an Oscar" convo, Returning From Hell sells itself as an unpleasant yet empowering experience, but can this adaptation of a reddit post deliver on that front? Well, as a tale based on supposed true events, it does make for an interesting read, but as a movie, it loses steam quite fast. Once Sarah bails on Edward and has her friend Sam help her crack down on Edward, the movie's pretty much over. The latter half of the film, dealing with investigations and court cases, has very little in the way of stakes since

Not sure if I'll retain the order I had in mind before the pause, but given I'm the only one left to make reviews, I'll try to go through these in a quicker pace, especially since work starts up again for me next week.
