  1. @Cap my last list posted is definitely my final one As for a few good men, I just moved everything else up in my list and I think I added it in the name of the father. But the list that you there now is the final one, I hope that helps.
  2. I agree 1000%. I like Jaws 2 almost as much as I like jaws. It's a completely different story and yet it's still thrilling it has one of the best deaths in any horror movie in my opinion.
  3. I agree with this 100%. I think maybe a good term for it is lightning in a bottle. It definitely appealed to millions of people but you can't replicate the success of a film like that in a sequel and then another sequel or TV series. It's like Jaws I guess in a way. It did huge business but it sequels never came close to replicating it's success. Sometimes a film hits the Zeitgeist but has nowhere to go but down from there.
  4. Wasn't anything close to a fluke. It had some of the strongest word of mouth you could possibly imagine for a movie. It opened in something like 60 theaters and people just kept talking and talking and talking about it. One of the strongest things about it was that a lot of married people in North America could relate to it. In my personal experience, I was married to a Portuguese woman and so a lot of the scenarios in the movie I could relate to. Believe me it was anything but a fluke
  5. Couldn't you explain that though by saying most Saturday shows were probably already sold out? Therefore when you have the same amount of people seeing moving on Sunday as you do on Saturday but for a quarter of the price, it's going to drop.
  6. Why would you try to blame a film that grossed almost 500 million dollars worldwide and say that brought down the teenage mutant Ninja turtles name LM fao. All Michael Bay does is make for the most part which gigantic Blockbuster movies. 191 million dollars for teenage mutant Ninja turtles in 2014 is really quite impressive. It also sold almost $100 million dollars in post theatrical sales on hv. I wouldn't exactly say it's a hated movie.
  7. There was one massive omission from best supporting actor that year and that was Val Kilmer for playing doc holliday in tombstone. One of the greatest performances I've ever seen.
  8. Yes Goodfellas is definitely one of the greatest films ever made. An interesting little tidbit about that movie is I live in Toronto and in 1992, obviously 2 years after the movie came out, me and a buddy drove down to Los angeles. As we are walking along sunset strip two women with clipboards and walkie talkies came up to us and asked if we wanted to be audience members for The Montel Williams show. We were 20 years old at the time and said yes, I mean Montel Williams was a big name. We had no idea who the guests were but we went anyway. On the show that day was the real Henry hill. I don't know how Montel Williams got him on but he came in with full disguise, a voice box to alter his voice and 4or 5 security guards that we could see. For the entire hour that we were there he discussed the movie, the book and some of the things that happened to him in real life that didn't make the movie. It was a fascinating hour and one of the highlights of our trip to Los angeles.
  9. There's so much to break down and discuss here and for that reason I'm not going to do it LOL but let me just say there's nothing wrong with saying Andrew Garfield is a terrific actor and then in the same breath saying Tom Holland is also a terrific actor. It's not a pissing contest you don't have to choose one over the other. I'm not even a big Tom Holland Spider-Man movie guy but he's terrific in the role. If there was ever a movie that Andrew Garfield should have won an Oscar for in my opinion, it's hacksaw ridge. I think so many people should have been nominated for an Oscar in that movie. Vince Vaughn Teresa Palmer and of course Andrew Garfield. And the last thing I'll say is regarding Deadpool part 3, to those of you who said that it's going under deadpool, I just don't see how you could possibly think that. Hugh Jackman and his character are going to add all kinds of interest and just remember when Deadpool part 2 was about to be released almost everybody thought it would go under deadpool. With Ryan Reynolds at least partially running the show, he's going to make sure it's a film that fans want to see.
  10. It was funny I remember when no way home came out, it seemed to be unanimously loved, even by people here. I spoke to people in real life and I actually had two people tell me it was the best film they'd ever seen. They were around 16 and 17 years old. Now all of a sudden it's a horrible piece of shit LOL yeah I don't buy it.
  11. First time I saw the trailer for strays I was kind of mortified. The only hook for the whole movie seem to be animated animals saying fuck and shit. It starts off about dogs that have been abandoned by their owners. Hardly a kid friendly or a pet owner kind of film. I'll never see this piece of shit and I hope it dies a fast and disastrous death.
  12. Well I can chime in a little bit on this representation thing. It's not quite the same as ethnicity but I'm definitely pretty patriotic not just when it comes to movies but sports and music and so on. I love seeing Canadians do well. Before I knew how much I adored Ryan Reynolds I wanted to see his movies because he was Canadian same as Jim Carrey or Mike Myers, Keanu Reeves, Michael j fox, Rachel Mcadams and so on. So like I said it's not an ethnic or race thing but everybody in one way or another I think enjoy seeing someone of your own kind doing well.
  13. Yeah but I have 3 days off in a row now so hopefully I can hit up an afternoon matinee.
  14. I haven't seen Oppenheimer yet. Unfortunately the only time I'd be able to see it would be 10:00 p.m. at night because of my work schedule but, I'm off for 3 days after tonight so hopefully I find time see it over the weekend although I do want to see Talk to Me as well.
  15. Judging someone's performance is completely subjective though at the same time. I personally think Denzel Washington's best performance was in the Siege. But I can completely understand why someone would think that his best performance was in training day or in Malcolm x because they were fantastic as well.
  16. I think Denzel should have won best actor for malcolm X. I think Al Pacino was just basically given a lifetime achievement award.... a makeup win so to speak. There were many other films Al I should have one for. So the academy decided to give him the win for scent of a woman. Pacino was great in that movie but Denzel was on another level in my opinion.
  17. Didnt a good portion of the US go back to school this week as well? That would also explain the bigger Tuesday bumps
