There's a post on reddit with 200 upvotes about how the person thinks this could get 100m today not including the previews for an OD of 150+m. Please someone kill me.

SpoilerOkay now I'm just confused.
Edit: Thinking about that comment for a second makes me think Max. But I'm burned out from essays so I don't know how to think anymore.

No I'm saying that posting any kind of reaction (positive or negative) here on this thread has been removed before, and unless something has changed in the last 24 hours, it'll happen again. These posts don't belong on this thread, that's what I'm saying. And I'm also saying that people trying to underplay the colossal success that is The Force Awakens gives me déja vu. It happened before with The Avengers. This IS bigger than any other blockbuster out there and it's well deservedly so. Abrams crafted a masterpiece out of a franchise that was plagued by the prequels. This is going gangbusters because it's an amazing Star Wars film and marketed very cleverly by Disney. People trying to underplay blockblusters receptions is nothing new here.
That's all hyperbole. A movie does not have to be a masterpiece to make a lot of money. Jurassic Shit came out literally earlier this year.

I assume he'd just say that the presales are fanboys. Only walkups count as general audience, because no one buys tickets on the internet except fans.
I went to bed last night, what did you think of it? Spoiler tag/PM/whatever.

Not seeing TFA here.
-
I think the RT is hyperbole at this point, but it's at least understandable given the anticipation. It's basically a remake but I'm happy with all the new characters, and hopefully the old ones become less important in future movies.
8/10, IDK.

Liked it but it wasn't amazing and not worried about TFA taking MMFR's BP spot.

50-55m thursday.
Not worth staying up if the site is going to keep crashing though. See you tomorrow when the dust has settled.

Okay I think I'm tripping hard. I'm watching all the trailers to find the shot I was looking for, and I don't see it. Anybody want to find it? It's Adam Driver, mask off, in snow. I think there are Storm Troopers behind him.
Also in terms of actual reaction, I don't think it was mind blowing amazing as some are no doubt going to say. I think I liked Star Trek 09 better, but I'll have to watch that again.
-
Will there be any numbers in the next hour or should I just go to bed?

Yay don't have to avoid spoilers anymore! Random note, slightly disappointed there was a shot from the trailer missing of Adam Driver in the snow.

I could hear them testing the sound outside the theater. Holy fuck, it shakes the whole area outside. Haven't seen a movie here in years.
I saw Interstellar there, it's pretty cray. I think I like Lincoln Square in NYC more, but damn, you get to hang out in a museum before the movie, lol.

now 97%, 8.4/10. outstanding considering the genre. Star wars is now equal favourite for a best picture win and should go down in the history books as the best blockbuster of all time.
Mad Max: Fury Road. -painting nails pink emoji-

Who got tickets? Going to Lincoln Square on the morning of the 26th because what the hell is with $23 tickets. The Master was in 70mm and didn't cost extra.

How the fuck is Boyhood not Oscar bait? ~12 YEARS~

Why isn't Carol a thread already
