Why the fuck is cartoon a gimmick

You are an absolute lunatic and you need to stop tbh if you really think that MJ1/2 do not fall into any of your incredibly loose "gimmick" categories

It's on Deadline. 62K is for the weekend with four theatres estimated at $249K for the weekend. (A 62K Friday for a single theatre would be completely boffo!)
Of course, take all this with a grain of salt... Steve Jobs is sitting on the record PTA for the year and look how that turned out.
No update on Spotlight.
Ew, 62k isn't that good xD Grand Budapest had a 65k Friday average in four theaters.

Yes, 62K PTA. Very good.

You can't possibly believe that

Are there any estimates for Carol yet by any chance?

Yeah I'm like definitely going tomorrow. Might also see The Book of Mormon because I won tickets, awk.

Keaton is nothing in Spotlight.

Just so happened to come home this weekend for Thanksgiving, probably going to go this weekend, if not next week.

I just want to say that some truly great movies are rotten of RT, and some absolute shit piles are fresh.
RT scores really aren't worth much
Dumb, useless post. If X movie you liked got a great RT score but everyone hates the movie you'd say "See this RT score, you guys are wrong!"

Honestly still not fond of the plot (though I don't really know specifics beyond the trailers), but Tarantino is the one person who could pull off three hours of dialogue in one room.

I'd be really pissed if The Martian got in over the best reviewed movie of the year.

Newest trailer does not look amazing

Munich definitely has a tacked-on epilogue that ends with a super-serious classic Spielberg manipulation shot focused on the Twin Towers before fading out. Not sentimental, but the epilogue is pretty heavy-handed and unsubtle.
I'll have to watch it again. I liked it a lot though. Srs bsns, that movie was.
But the more I think about this movie I enjoy it more already. Listening to the score right now.

Pacific Rim was so shitty that... that... I don't even know.
-
Also the scene
where the plane goes down
was pretty great.
-
Agree with the above. Had my full attention the entire way through until the Spielberg-type last 10 minutes.
-
The trailer looked amazing on the big screen today. Oh my God.

I thought this was terrific, probably my favorite SS since the 2002 two-fer of Minority Report and Catch Me If You Can. Enjoyed it tremendously.
Also, Travod, were you at the 4:20 showing at AMC Georgetown?
LMAO, yes I was.
Edit: But for everybody else, I really really did like it a lot. I have to watch Munich again to decide which is better - I don't remember Munich having any heavy handed sentimentality like the last 10 minutes of this movie though. (Catch Me If You Can is the best Spielberg though).
-
I really liked it but Spielberg went all Spielberg on the ending.

I think I'm gonna go see Bridge of Spies today.

Masterpiece. Attah might have the strongest make performance of the 2010s.

I'm very happy that film has progressed to the point where every movie simply looks SO PRETTY.
