Man on Wire and JGL's accent.

Why? The direction and performances are what make the whole thing work.
Performances and screenplay *shrug*

Spotlight is not getting director IMO
-
I saw it. It's pretty okay.
-
Liked it a lot. BP + Screenplay locked IMO. Ruffalo the standout. Keaton is meh, doesn't have any Oscar scenes. McAdams also whatever. Everyone else a non factor.

Tomorrow's the big day.

I've skipped class for far lesser reasons.
2.5 hour class once a week, can't do it.
-
Slightly pissed that I got a screening for this but I have class at that time hijasiuhajsf

Song is poopy. Long live Adele or whoever did Casino Royale.

That's really cool! You're a journalist too?
...in high school I was No, it's just that my global cinema professor happens to be interested in this stuff I guess. Going Clear and CitizenFour are all I've seen recently.
-
Fully aware and expected that score nomination won't happen, but I really liked it.

That's great. She should've gotten "Truth" because it is the better journalism movie.
Who cares sdjkhfbassdfjbk it's like an invitation only screening with the people from the Boston Globe and apparently Mark Ruffalo and another actor might come too. Website of info: http://investigativefilmfestival.com
This is so rad.

HOLY FUCK, BENEFITS OF TAKING A FILM CLASS:
My professor put together a film festival about investigative journalism, and the opening night film is Spotlight and she's inviting her students and I'm going to see it next week LGHSDJKCSUDKGHJVFWDKSU

More suspenseful and thrilling spiritual successor to Zero Dark Thirty is my opinion.

Damn I would but I have work. What theater in case I can get off early?
Late, woops. It's at Mazza Gallerie in Friendship Heights.
-
Seriously if anybody in DC is free tomorrow at 4 I have an extra ticket.
-
In DC? Where?
Don't you follow DC critics/screenings things on Twitter? I'm seeing it Monday in Friendship Heights. Technically I have two tickets and everyone else has class. Awkward.

Yay, got a free screening for Monday.

Am I being stupid or was Art3mis black?

Reading some of the reviews has helped me clear my thoughts about it. It really does get into a LOT of stuff...
From a
hilarious drug raid where the cops use a gigantic battering ram tank to break down the door which sends a woman literally flying across the room
to
AIDS
.
7/10
People praising cinematography: not really special. Serviceable. Less ugly than some other movies.

Guy that played suge knight is getting some praise.
Eh. I wouldn't say he did anything special.

I have no interest at all in rap/history of rap/NWA and I still liked it. Ice Cube's son was probably the best. Also Eazy E. Paul Giamattti was.... eh, and there's one scene with him that singlehandedly explains why the movie is 2.5 hours. He says a minute long speech and then LITERALLY I AM NOT EXAGGERATING IMMEDIATELY says the same speech AGAIN. There's just a lot of fat.
Music is pretty good I guess. I don't think it's restricted to fans.

AY YO, AMA
I'll answer when I wake up tomorrow

What are the bad parts of IB? Recently decided it was my favorite movie ever, awkward.
As for TH8 I'm just not sure at the moment. Story seems IDK, but 1. he has the best dialogue, 2. since I'm from NYC I'll be able to see it with all the trinkets and fanciness as intended on Christmas
