27% jump? BVS fell a lot harder than Furious 7 on its 2nd weekend and Furious 7's 2nd Tuesday jump was only 19%.
Believe me, I'm hoping for 2.7. I just don't want to get my hopes up. That would be the funniest drop yet.
-
27% increase gives 3.9ish.
Maybe that's it.
If it's really 2.7, that's hilarious. It can't be that low...

it's not quite the same as it would be if it got dropped / delayed at the last minute. Think of crew members as contractors. If they lose their contract at the last minute then they are going unemployed briefly, and have no income, as it may take a while to arrange each job.
That's assuming they wouldn't have the next film lined up to shoot straight after JL1, which they probably would. Back to square one.

Crew members aren't attached to WB or DC or anything. They have no connection to the universe except as a project they're working on for awhile. It's not like they finish up one DC project and roll into the next one. So while they have flexibility in terms of trying to find work (since they're not attached to any studio), the short time frame means it's difficult to immediately line up a replacement gig because everything is already booked.
The people working on JL1 might not be affected, but the crew on the next film in production lined up afterwards will be in the same position as the crew for JL1 would be if they delayed it now.
Either they can salvage this thing or they can't. WB need to look at the big picture, an entire slate of films that could collapse, not just at one film.

Well if they don't make some major changes now, JL1 will send the DCEU down in flames regardless. Then people will be looking for new jobs anyway. It's only delaying the inevitable.
JL won't have the same kind of opening to save it like this did, so if will have to survive based on WOM. I have no reason to think things will improve much keeping the same people in place.
They have already blown their load putting the trinity together on screen for the first time, and most people don't care that much about the other JL characters. I don't know how JL will do anything other than drop.

That's no fun Tele. Isn't there a German word for this sort of thing?
Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice, it's just like The Force Awakens, except without the critical and financial success...

This trilogy will act just like the previous two.
First movie grosses the highest
Second movie grosses the least
Third movies falls in between
So something like:
TFA - 985m
Ep8 - 810
Ep9 - 905
TFA - 950
Ep8 - 700
EP9 - 800

It's made most of its money. Close enough.

So...
TFAs run is basically over. Time to move on to the next big thing people.
Episode 8 OW predictions anyone? Can it crack 250M? Can we open a thread for the Ep8 OW predictions now?
I know it's 16-17 months away (if it doesn't get delayed), but lets face it, nobody cares about anything else until then.
BvS and Civil War just aren't going to do it for me I'm afraid.

What's this looking at OS without China? 1.1B?
-
Hopefully that goes up by 2M or so.
-
When was the last time we didn't get early numbers for a film that's probably going to hit 100M for the weekend?
Rth and Deadline give no fucks.

People will go for that reason, but once the novelty wears off, they will have to make good films to keep bringing them back to these DC movies. I'm yet to be convinced that anyone at WB/DC knows what they are doing. Zack Snyder should be directing the next Nicki Minaj music video, not Justice League.

Except a lot of people think it looks great. And they also are really looking forward to the Justice League movie and individual spinoffs. So I don't think personal opinion will matter much (whether yours or mine).
Who are these "lot of people" you speak of?
Snyder hasn't made one good movie, and even the trailers for this have been bad, which is usually the only thing he has going for him. They've given him the Justice League movies too.
Pray for the DCCU.

BVS is gonna make a lot of money for WB, mess or not.
If its as bad as it looks, it doesn't bode well for their plans to build off that film over the next few years.

I can't stop thinking about this show.
Evan Rachel Wood is great in this, but Louis Herthum is phenomenal.
I wish they got rid of Simon Quarterman though. Those scenes with him and Sidse Babett Knudsen were the weak point of the pilot.
