  1. My main problem with the whole movie is how this was essentially the equivalent of 10 9/11s happening and nobody seemed to give a fuck, or even actually get hurt.
  2. Well I thought it was just anticlimatic and it failed to hit emotionally like it was trying, but I think most people's problem is that Zod and Superman to kill like 10,000 people combined and suddenly Superman is freaking out and crying over killing him.
  3. Muschamp is so hilariously mediocre and as a Canes fan I think he should stay on Sucks about Oregon, considering how exciting they are to watch, simply. Looks like Rapeis Winston has the Heisman on lock unless he loses to UF
  4. I mean, there's a case for it. I think First Class is the best non Batman superhero movie ever so I got that ranked over X2. But Wolverine and Nightcrawler were just so dope in X2. That mansion scene was fucking CRAZY at the time.
  5. It got to the point where I stopped trying to defend the movie and just said fuck it. Gonna be good times next May, if he can avoid getting banned till then.
  6. I thought I was crazy, because it seems like this has been happening alot. Glad I'm not the only one
  7. Yea, DOFP doesn't feel overpredicted yet- it feels like an EVENT movie, potentially, which cannot be said for any X-Men related movie since hype for The Last Stand started. Sure, TLS sucked, but it was a fucking monster on OW before everyone realized it. I think DOFP has that kind of potential. Guardians of the Galaxy on the other hand, is holy shit yes overpredicited
  8. I think it's the opposite in a way. Before 2008 hit and IM and then TDK absolutely annihilated the bar, X2 and Spidey 2 were generally considered the best superhero movies. I think the absolute flux since 2010 of movies like Avengers and First Class and such have buried X2, which was pretty damn good. Maybe not magic, but better than anything in Singer's catalog that doesn't involve Keyzer Soze.
  9. I actually enjoyed TASM far more than most and it honestly was close to the level of the first Raimi movie, it just felt redundant. Plus, iJack's lunacy overshadowed that movie on this board. I think with Foxx as the villain (I'm a big time Jamie Foxx mark) and the fact that it isn't a retread, I think I have the most confidence in TASM2 to be at least pretty good out of the four.
  10. My anticipation for DOFP is through the roof, and I liked the trailer way better than everyone here. That said, I'm kind of pessimistic about it. So many characters and not much confidence in Singer to recapture the X2 magic. Actually do have high hopes for TASM2 and CA as well, both look very entertaining. I have not and still do not, and maybe never will, get the hype for GOTG.
  11. I think I'd have MOS and Thor both as solid Bs, with Wolverine a little below that and IM3 legitmately probably a 4/10 upon rewatch, in my opinion. Unimpressive year in general for super hero movies, pray that next year is better.
  12. The first scene in MOS is mediocre, and except for the action scene in Smallville, so is pretty much all the action in the entire movie. That final battle is just absolutely tedious. Call me crazy though, but I loved the flashbacks to his childhood alot, and I generally really enjoyed all the scenes people complained about him being "Emo Clark" and wandering around- they were very well made. But man, the last 3/5s of the movie really struggles.
  13. We only have Wednesday for Friday for college, which is what we had down in Florida public schools until two years ago when they really started the furloughs heavy. Never a fall break or anything like that.
  14. Yea, it's running a tad slow for me too, and Fandango is moving at a snail's pace, but that might be because my computer sucks balls.
  15. Yea that would have been swell- they didn't do it until my senior year, and even then it was only a way around to not pay teachers because the state went budget cut fucking crazy, so it wasn't exactly the best circumstances, but hey, no school!
  16. Shit, I forgot all about the Branning Bowl tomorrow! That'll offset the gains from Thanksgiving fall break starting on Monday.
  17. No one's denying it'll drop hard. I think it will drop right around 60 percent. But your incessant doom and gloom in this topic is making it seem like the second coming of New Moon or DH2. It'll hold better than them
  18. It won't drop as hard in the second weekend because of Thanksgiving, though. It isn't Twilight. Plus, it has great WOM no matter how many times you try to shout and deny it, EVEN AMONG NON BOOK fans. It'll drop massive on December 7th but it'll do well for itself over the five day
  19. Holy balls thats a classic Disney one location opener for Frozen, ala Toy Story 2. As for Fire, I do think it drops hard today BUT holds very well on Sunday, making thr weekend at least somewhat balanced
  20. And with this post, we have reached a place deeper, darker, and more unsettling than the previously high bar already set.
  21. I'd say 42 sounds reasonable for a Saturday number, but I actually think it does really quite well on Sunday and stays in the low 30s. Tons of kids have school off Monday for Thanksgiving/fall break, with more teachers getting forloughs and such. Same for alot of adult federal employees, and many college kids go home. It won't be a Memorial Day or Veteran's Day hold or anything, but pretty damn solid. 67.5 42 32 141.5. Well, that's still disappointing.
  22. I will literally bet you 50 dollars cash that CF still beats the Hobbit, no matter what the opening is.
  23. Low 60s is truly awful from 25.5 million midnights, that's just a very, very poor midnights to OD internal multiplier. That'd make 145 million very difficult.
  24. I was hoping Rth's next post would troll us and post just the numbers for holdovers and Delivery Man, but that works, too
  25. 82 million opening day, strong challenger to the 2D record. Vince Vaughn triumphs at the box office again
