  1. The "creative freedom" quote is specifically referring to how much they're allowed to stray from the source material. With Marvel there's things they have to stick to, vs Twisted Metal where they changed a lot from the games for the show.
  2. So that quote is completely taken out of context. It's comparing it to Twisted Metal in terms of liberties with source material.
  3. I think generally it's still seen as a long shot. I don't think Disney rolling out the Hulu Disney+ merger today is poorly timed either, especially since that was (partially) something Peltz pushed for
  4. It could be delayed hypothetically, but apparently Lightstorm is going to be at D23 which likely means it's on track.
  5. From my looking at business covering accounts Peltz big two arguments were: Underperforming 2023 slate, which has been hurt by tying it to overt racist statements about Black Panther Iger not having a clear succession plan
  6. If they're planning for Spider-Man to film in September, it's possibly Sony could slate it for a holiday 2025 release. They'd probably have to knock the slate back to make it happen (probably Blade to early 2026 too), but it could work. They would need to pick a director pretty soon though, but with Goddard and Lin on the table it's sounding very promising.
  7. Can someone who's more aware of how this kind of thing works give any idea as to who has the edge in this board fight?
  8. Literally no other movies except MCU ones have people on here demanding mass awareness and hype before filming even begins.
  9. How are people surprised at this when A: he was never cast in the first place and B: is literally in a movie coming just 3 months later.
  10. Oh Perlmutter being a racist is very old news. If you mean Peltz it's because the interview is very recent.
  11. That's a big thing that keeps me confident in the MCU long term. Theyve barely even touched the X-Men, and it definitely feels like mutants are the next big push after the multiverse (I mean Im sure the Multiverse will still be around in some way but it won't be the focus of the whole franchise). And after Deadpool and Wolverine? Oh yeah. Get ready for all the mutants.
  12. The only difference is one is a comedy and the other two are dramas. Content wise not really.
  13. I think Deadpool and 97 will show that the decline of the X-Men overall under Fox does not mean they can't also be big under Disney
  14. I mean Levy and Reynolds have worked closely together before, and Reynolds was always very heavily involved in the first two movies.
  15. It'll probably be very limited. Plus if it's live it might be easier to just squeeze in one showing
  16. Maybe because I've never super loved the first movie (I prefer the musicals version of the story) but this didn't do much for me.
  17. The reception to X-Men 97 shows that people are really, really excited for good X-Men stuff again.
  18. Second trailer not as good as the first. Think it actually showed a little too much
  19. Like you don't need absurdly complex politics but it's probably a good idea to at least have a take. Even the Robocop remake made a try at commentary about drone warfare
  20. Not the worst plan honestly. Though the fact that the synopsis says on Earth makes me think it's a prequel about their time on earth
  21. Ooh this definitely looks promising. Less polished than say Covenant (in a good way)
  22. Yep. They overcorrected but they went way too far away from the basic premise
