If the world ended, and a Nolan's movie was the only thing showing - which is more or less what is happening now - I STILL wouldn't go see it!! **
That's how much I hate his overhyped shtick!!
** And not because of the "virus", which I hate less than Nolan.

This movie is such a wrong foot to start off the Post-Apocalypse era on...
Because everyone will have their eyes glued on the OW, to see if the market can be saved - and then when this bombs, everybody in the industry will get suicidal...
Come next weekend it turns out that people just didn't care anymore about Nolan's antics - and the market and everything is just fine...
Minus the people that killed themselves the previous week... 😕 for nothing.

Yeah, this is why we can't have nice things.**
** Because the trillion dollar club guys want to bankrupt us all and then buy us out for scraps. And each decade they organize another false flag operation - ten times bigger and more arrogant than the previous one - until they've achieved their goal. Welcome to 2020.

This movie looks pretty bad but also could be fun but I can't say for sure because these trailers are absolutely awful. What kind of tone were they even aiming for here? Probably the worst trailer I've seen for a Disney film in quite sometime. At this point the movie just looks like the Verbinski Pirates of the Caribbean movies with worse CGI.
And how is that bad? PotC trilogy is one of the Top 5 trilogies that ever existed!
Problem is it will obviously be much worse than PotC and the Mummy trilogies it so desperately wants to copy. Jungles are lame, no one likes them & the Rock is a joke: never had a single good movie. Too bad for Blunt, never got her big (BIG) hit.

How long until Elizabeth Moss gets a role in the MCU??
Only as a villain. I guarantee you that.

Horror is one of more creative genres. That's why I love it. Horror, fantasy, sci fi. So much to explore, so many places to go where you didn't think you could.
Yeah, like the Human Centipede 3...
I didn't think I could go there - neither I wanted to.

Elisabeth Moss has been a fantastic actress for decades now. Anyone who says otherwise clearly hasn’t seen her standout roles in the likes of The West Wing, Mad Men or The Handmaids Tale (for which she’s won multiple acting awards). Even her relatively brief appearance in Us was memorable, and make no mistake, she delivers an absolutely brilliant performance in The Invisible Man, where for the most part she’s acting without any scene partners to bounce off.
OK, OK. I believe that. I saw the trailer - and even in such short time it is evident she is great.
Hmm, I knew it - I shouldn't have believed what these people said. I don't believe them anyway - but this time I hadn't even seen a proper trailer, got confused with another upcoming movie that looked bad.
I might have even seen the movie (it's in IMAX now!), because the trailer looks good and there are some visuals and suspense in it. Too bad I already read the whole plot on Wiki. 😕 Stupid Shay; fell for fake news.

Actually, Moss elevates the movie. The film is not bad at all, but Moss' acting is way too good for it. She's a fantastic actress. Her acting is too good for the horror genre
Yeah, I read that. Most critics say that. Very, very strange. Totally different from what I heard from a slice of the GA.
OK, I might have to torrent the movie - just to check myself if she's good or not.

Why don't you just give it a chance?
Yeah, makes sense - but I hate a cheap horror movie (with no sci-fi or CGI in it).
As you all know, I watch almost everything in cinemas - except cheap horror and romantic movies. Such films can not give me anything, because they (ab)use feelings the Shay is impervious to: fear and loneliness. But I get why the GA eats such movies up - though it pains me.
I read the plot in Wiki though - to give it a chance - and it's not that bad by itself. But I don't like that it tries to cash on a classic - turning it into the usual androphobic diverse #MeToo hogwash.
Also, the main character looks ugly. I can't sympathize with her. Many people I know, who like every horror, said she can't act - and the movie is ridiculous, fake and unbelievable. I would rather believe them, or anyone - than the notorious RT shills.**
**Many of whom just shat on the latest Ritchie film - for no other reason than being "racist", lol.

Why does this thing have such good reviews?
It looks like shit - and I don't have to watch it or even go near it, to know it most probably is.

LOL, is this thread a joke?
2020 is the worst year ever, considering the terrible line-up of movies. There is hardly a single one that looks good.
Add to that: 1. 2019 had the best line-up ever 2. the virus outbreak
and the result is: 2020's BO will be TWICE lower than 2019, or even worse. Not even talking percentages here.

Honestly I was a pretty big critic of the CGI, and yea at the beginning of the movie it was super distracting. But as the movie goes you realize that like 80% of the stuff they probably couldn't have gotten a real dog to do. Also, if they had used a real dog, I think this would have fallen into "the Lion King 2019" trap where the real animal can't emote the way the script calls for. There are so many times in the movie the dog needs to make a certain face, or look a certain way, and I really don't think they could have done it the way they did if they had used a real dog.
For example, after the movie my sister said to me (talking about how much she liked it) how "there was actual dialogue between Harisson Ford and Buck, you could like feel what they were saying" and I think a large part of why that worked was because of how they used the CGI to enhance the emotive performance of the dog.
Finally. Glad someone explained it for the dumb-dumbs, who hated on the movie without ever seeing it.
I would suggest to them they petition to make the next Marvel movie without CGI. But of course, then there would be nothing left of it - right?

Terrible, terrible movie.
Watched it just for Carrey, would have walked out otherwise.
So glad The Call of the Wild is murdering it right out of the gate...

So glad this great movie gave all the haters here the middle finger - and destroyed the appalling game-abomination of last week.

Your hatred only fuels more video game movie deserved success. So keep going, please.
Only it doesn't.
I watch such movies (because I watch everything) and sometimes even enjoy them - as I might enjoy this stupid flick for Carrie alone (just going out now to see it).
But they always flop - and will keep disappointing - because you obviously can't have a good movie from a shitty source. Also, hardcore gamers hate art and everything - so they are definitely not a good core public for a movie project. Hope studios finally realise it - and stop trying to make game-movies happen. They will never happen.

This is, obviously, the best movie of 2020 winter, no questions asked.
Though, of course, Dolittle comes close.
Can't wait to see it twice, in IMAX - like with Dolittle. Bringing my girlfriend too, though she's a cat person.

You guys are greatly under-estimating Sonic's brand power.
No, no - I hate ALL games! The bigger they are - the more I hate them.
So if Sonic is indeed some washed up lame has been - thеn I don't hate him that much...
I like that all videogame movies flop - and would like to keep it that way. I believe no videogame movies should be made. There are more than enough actual forms of art (which games are NOT) that could be used for adaptation. No need to go straight for the lowest kind: games and comics (and see where that got us... 😕 ).

The power of Carrey!!
Single-handedly making a hit - out of even the shittiest brand!
This is a VIDEOGAME property, man - the lowliest kind out there - and he still saved it!

Wow, it seems someone hates the movie (without seeing it?)...

OMG, what a seedy, nasty movie this was...
And you think the Joker was antisocial?? LOL, Joaquin's Joker was a pinnacle of humanity - compared to the BoP denizens.
PS: No, seriously, if only one in a hundred real people was like this Joker, we'd be living in a paradise. Because everyone would get what he deserves - and an asshole wouldn't live long enough to procreate. That is why the powers that be were so afraid of the Joker movie and tried to kill it on release.

Just what are you, guys:
1 - pathetic sad people
2 - Pixar zombies
3 - or desperate trolls?
This is the best animation ever, period. It packs more punch in 5 minutes than Pixar and most of the others do in a whole trilogy.
Not sure I will ever get as low as even commenting on your posts again - but I will definitely "Not Cool" bomb them to oblivion.
