The "Zak Penn" of the WW screenplay's credits is Jason Fuchs. He was one of the many writers working on screenplays when Michelle MacLaren was developing the project. Her ideas didn't pan out, then Allan Heinberg was brought on to work with Snyder to bring the script back to a more classic WW origins story. Jenkins officially replaced MacLaren a few months later and then she and Johns also got involved with the screenplay.

Not really the case at all for most filmmakers working today. Sandberg doesn't even have control over when the first costume reveal is and he's the one being asked about these set photos on social media all the time.
