  1. https://variety.com/2021/film/news/dune-no-time-to-die-china-extensions-1235114687/ ‘Dune,’ ‘No Time to Die’ Become First Imported Films to Get Theatrical Extensions in China During Pandemic This may not add much to NTTD's final number in China but even a few more million is a few more million.
  2. Fair but $20-30M could be the difference between $750M+ and $800M. It's still money left on the table.
  3. https://twitter.com/meJat32/status/1459165245784543233?s=20 But it seems the X factor here is the US and China. Would better conditions have created better results in these two markets? NTTD's gross in the US seems to have been hurt by theater hesitancy on the part of older demographics. In China, the under performance seems multi-layered: 1. Universal's marketing tour was scrapped 2. Recent theater closures due to new COVID outbreaks 3. China's hostility toward foreign films. Add to this recurring COVID issues in Russia and Latin America that suppressed the box office in those regions.
  4. I think closer to $780-790 based on the performance in current markets, and projections from three upcoming premieres in Australia, Malaysia and the Philippines.
  5. Next is the 60th anniversary of the film series so there's hope that we may get a that major announcement. Craig was announced October 2005.
  6. Add to that another $20-25M from Australia in November.
  7. It really is. It's a good sign that NTTD could be close to $500M WW by the time it opens in China at the end of the month.
  8. ‘No Time To Die’ Nears $400M At Global Box Office https://www.forbes.com/sites/scottmendelson/2021/10/15/no-time-to-die-starring-daniel-craig-as-james-bond-007-nears-400-million-at-worldwide-box-office/?sh=43f81cda1772
  9. Obviously, we'll see what kind of domestic legs NTTD has, but I'm not completely convinced that the takeaway should be skewing younger. International numbers suggest that Bond is as strong as ever. I mean, many countries are still operating at limited capacity and NTTD has already grossed over $300M WW. With China and Australia upcoming, there's still a shot that NTTD comes in at number 2 or 3 in Hollywood box office takings for the year.
  10. Monday (10/11) is Columbus Day in the States. Maybe Sunday will have a smaller drop off from Saturday since people have the following day off.
  11. Yes. If NTTD stays the course then it'll gross 100 mill+ by Monday. It may even match or beat Spectre's opening weekend gross.
  12. ‘No Time To Die’ Clocks $22M Through Two Days Offshore, Sets Multiple Records – International Box Office https://deadline.com/2021/10/no-time-to-die-opening-weekend-uk-international-box-office-daniel-craig-james-bond-1234847227/
  13. I think this film will do well overseas. NTTD is getting people talking and, I think, the word is mostly positive. https://variety.com/2021/film/global/james-bond-zurich-film-festival-daniel-craig-1235076781/
  14. The video reviews I'm watching on YouTube all seem to praise NTTD as imperfect but really good. This may be too hard to fully parse but I think you'll see a split between Bond fans and major critics, while audiences and professional (sliding scale) bloggers will give the film consistent praise. I still think NTTD breaks $700 million.
  15. That seems low. If NTTD matches CR domestically at $160 mill, I don't see NTTD only doing $390 mill overseas.
  16. Everyone is low balling everything. It makes for a better narrative and builds some cushion. This will open to 120+.
  17. https://deadline.com/2021/09/no-time-to-die-international-box-office-preview-daniel-craig-james-bond-1234845794/ ‘No Time To Die’ Looking To Bond With $90 Million At Early International Box Office – Preview
  18. NTTD has a real shot at being number two or three for the year for both domestic and international grosses (excluding Chinese releases). I think this was true internationally (worldwide) even before the pandemic.
  19. Older is a relative term. Certainly, there are some 80 year old fans but the average sits between 25 and 45. I think NTTD will perform in Europe. I worry about Australia and China. NTTD opens in China at the end of the month, while the Australian opening is in November.
  20. It's currently tracking at 70 mill with 12-13 days to go. NTTD can open with $85+ million with good reviews and international momentum at the box office.
