This was addressed in weekend thread. The problem was lack of young audience for NTTD, not old ones. Bond franchise failed in getting the young demos to the fold.
Yeah CoVID did hurt it in LATAM and Asia, but will hardly an issue for Bond, may be $20-30M more.
Fair but $20-30M could be the difference between $750M+ and $800M. It's still money left on the table.

Like in Germany, the ATP is EUR11 compared to EUR9.5 of Spectre. In UK its around GBP10+ compared to 8ish of Spectre. Similarily in Nordics.
Also lucky that ER got better due to CoVID by 10% or so in most European currency as compared to what they were in 2019.
But it seems the X factor here is the US and China. Would better conditions have created better results in these two markets?
NTTD's gross in the US seems to have been hurt by theater hesitancy on the part of older demographics. In China, the under performance seems multi-layered: 1. Universal's marketing tour was scrapped 2. Recent theater closures due to new COVID outbreaks 3. China's hostility toward foreign films.
Add to this recurring COVID issues in Russia and Latin America that suppressed the box office in those regions.

Solid total. Likely would have made 900-billion in normal times
For sure.

The $750M seems more and more realistic.
I think closer to $780-790 based on the performance in current markets, and projections from three upcoming premieres in Australia, Malaysia and the Philippines.

We'll probably have a new Bond actor confirmed by the end of next year, then a couple of years after that we'll get the next film
Next is the 60th anniversary of the film series so there's hope that we may get a that major announcement. Craig was announced October 2005.

Looks like $510-520M without China. China may be $75-100M.
DOM probably settle around 150-160M for $735-780M.Add to that another $20-25M from Australia in November.

That's so impressive
It really is. It's a good sign that NTTD could be close to $500M WW by the time it opens in China at the end of the month.

Obviously, we'll see what kind of domestic legs NTTD has, but I'm not completely convinced that the takeaway should be skewing younger. International numbers suggest that Bond is as strong as ever. I mean, many countries are still operating at limited capacity and NTTD has already grossed over $300M WW. With China and Australia upcoming, there's still a shot that NTTD comes in at number 2 or 3 in Hollywood box office takings for the year.

Must be Sat+Sun sales pushing it above those two. I don't see how previews and Friday would be ahead in the US.
Monday (10/11) is Columbus Day in the States. Maybe Sunday will have a smaller drop off from Saturday since people have the following day off.

is that good?
Yes. If NTTD stays the course then it'll gross 100 mill+ by Monday. It may even match or beat Spectre's opening weekend gross.

I think this film will do well overseas. NTTD is getting people talking and, I think, the word is mostly positive.

The video reviews I'm watching on YouTube all seem to praise NTTD as imperfect but really good. This may be too hard to fully parse but I think you'll see a split between Bond fans and major critics, while audiences and professional (sliding scale) bloggers will give the film consistent praise.
I still think NTTD breaks $700 million.

550m
That seems low. If NTTD matches CR domestically at $160 mill, I don't see NTTD only doing $390 mill overseas.

DHL predict a 20-25m opening for Dune and that movie ended up with 38m, so by the similar ratio, 140m is on track?
Everyone is low balling everything. It makes for a better narrative and builds some cushion. This will open to 120+.

I mean it's not that much less than what Skyfall and Spectre did in those locations. That number makes sense to me given COVID.
Right. Also excludes China and Australia.

‘No Time To Die’ Looking To Bond With $90 Million At Early International Box Office – Preview

NTTD has a real shot at being number two or three for the year for both domestic and international grosses (excluding Chinese releases). I think this was true internationally (worldwide) even before the pandemic.

This is a franchise that still attracts older crowd. With some if not most of them not wanting to risk covid, maybe its international numbers could be less.
Older is a relative term. Certainly, there are some 80 year old fans but the average sits between 25 and 45. I think NTTD will perform in Europe. I worry about Australia and China. NTTD opens in China at the end of the month, while the Australian opening is in November.

I still think NTTD can pull 70 million $ opening in the US.
It's currently tracking at 70 mill with 12-13 days to go. NTTD can open with $85+ million with good reviews and international momentum at the box office.

‘Dune,’ ‘No Time to Die’ Become First Imported Films to Get Theatrical Extensions in China During Pandemic
This may not add much to NTTD's final number in China but even a few more million is a few more million.
