They did not even perform prepandemic for how overly hyped those movies were. Pre pandemic hyped comic book movies made a billion. Guardians should have been a billion, not less than Vol. 2

Take China away from both volumes and 3 made 50m more than 2.

if Barbie opens with lets say 170M what is the lifetime floor? Like what multi we expect? It's skewing female of course but not as extremly as thought so which means much better chance for long legs due to more demos showing interest. So realstiically what would be the lowest lifetime?

    450?

I told you 9M would happen.

It bested my 125.22m-total-by-yesterday prediction by close to .5m, nice!

My weekdays were too high and weekend jumps not high enough, but overall the numbers shook out to a nearly identical total.

Looking at this week and into the weekend, I'm not sure how much Barbienheimer will affect it, but I'm thinking with another amazing Sunday hold it could drop as low as 20% :

    mon 1.5 (-50%)

    tues 2.0 (+35%)

    wed 1.5 (-25%)

    thurs 1.4 (-7%)

    fri 2.0 (+40%)

    sat 2.7 (+35%)

    sun 2.4 (-12%)

    6th wkd 7.1m (-22%)

That would put it at 139.19m

Puss in Boots 2 got to 28 days

Which Ele will match once we get the thurs number! Estimating a flat day for yesterday, if it drops 20% from that number it should just squeak over 1m on wed/thurs in 2 weeks, allowing for it to reach 45 days over by Sunday, July 30. :sarah:

If the studios resort to "block booking" and free tickets to pad film grosses their days as profitable enterprises that make product people actually want to pay for are DONE.

Oh so these tickets are purchased ahead of time for a specific showing/seat, and regardless of if it's claimed it expires with that showing? Interesting...

I thought it was like an open ticket and you can then apply it towards an open seat at any future showing. This way seems like it would be more honest than what's actually happening.
