  1. With the exception of Christmas being on a Thursday, I cant find a film that has decreased on the Friday after Christmas dating back all the way to 2002. This is unheard of.
  2. This makes no sense, no film decreased in 2002 or last year the Friday after Christmas
  3. Do you wanna build a snowman! A, that is all.
  4. Saw Hobbit yesterday and Frozen today, both are great movies and deserve great runs. Good to see excellent numbers for both. Hobbit should see a 5-10% increase and Frozen at least 30% increase this weekend.
  5. IMO it was Gravity, most predictions were under 100m Dom and 250m WW. Maybe we should have a poll
  6. So when it comes to this years box office surprise who won. Some contenders are Iron Man 3, Gravity and Frozen.
  7. What I'm hoping for today Hobbit: 11.5m Frozen: 10.5m Wolf: 10m
  8. Pacing issues completely sorted out on this one, did not feel like 160 mins at all. Smaug was awesome although a little too chatty for my liking. Visual effects were fine for 98% of the movie! Do people realize how much CGI was in this, no because it was usually excellent. That said the gold melting was fairly poor. Much more action and better action at that. Solid adventure film. Still does not come close to any of the LOTR movies. A-
  9. DoS was sold out at my local theater, was sold out at every theater I looked at!
  10. Walking With Dinosaurs increase 65%, and Frozen increased 33% so both kids films went against trends!
  11. Thread title should be changed, DoS won christmas
  12. If it follows TTT then Desolation of Smaug will land with a 36.74m weekend. Its also had better holds and increases every day then TTT so if the trend continues we are in for something really special. Cant fathom what Frozen could do this weekend.
  13. With that number DoS could be heading for a 35m weekend. Anchorman could stay flat and Frozen could be 25m+.
  14. The two theaters around me have a lot more 3D showings than 2d showings. Matter of fact that 17 showing theater has only 5 in 2d!
  15. So I just looked at sessions times of a large theater in Perth. It has 17 showtimes for DoS which are all nearly sold out! It ridiculous I'v never seen anything like it, especially morning to early afternoon sessions. This is going to have a very large opening day. I might not be able to get to see it today at my local theater. Session times for Frozen are decently packed, nothing like DoS though.
  16. Extremely hard to predict today but here goes Wolf 9.5m Smaug 8.9m Witty 7.7m Ronin 7.0m Grudge 6.6m American Hustle 6.0m Anchorman 2 5.4m Frozen 3.9m
