Still very flat from what I can see
North lakes Event has two 400 seat Vmax cinemas and at best 40 tickets are sold for 6pm Thursday. Most other sessions at night Wed-Fri have less.

Been awhile since I've posted but what's presales looking like for Wakanda Forever? Just checked my local Event Cinemas and there's hardly any seats bought for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday... Usually a week out sessions start filling up.

$1b would be fantastic, but I reckon we still have to wait until next year for that.

Can it try 75 or 80 ? 70 would already be huge and would make NWH the 4th biggest film in Australia but if we can have more I won't say no
Sitting on $52.2m after 2 weeks.

Good ? Expected ? Bad ?
Cinemas are closed Christmas Day so hard to compare against Avengers IW and EG.

Hard to predict the future but can't see it getting to $2B (love to be proven wrong). Like it or not covid WILL have an effect in some markets. I think it'll cut off the legs in some European markets in the back half of its BO run.

I'm going with yes. Probably easy to be honest.
Yeah, doesn't seem to be a whole lot of buzz and there's more sessions for NWH so far. Could change closer to boxing day though.

Who?
Others have responded but covers the box office numbers on a weekly basis. Does movie reviews as well but people know him primarily for analysing the weekends numbers.

I scrap the data from their website. This is the first movie I've done, so I don't have Endgame comparisons
Ah ok, thank you!

I haven't gone back in this thread in a loooong time but how are you getting all these numbers?
I know EG opened on a normal Wednesday in April '19 but what were the admissions like in comparison? -

All of these numbers will likely be closer to the OD than the OW, even $175M…Even Dan Murrell (Charts with Dan) went conservative at $180m OW...

Wow...absolutely massive. Wonder how today will go. Less showings but a public holiday.
My showing was packed but was deathly silent for most of the movie with the exception of laughs every now and then.
-
Crazy. My 7:30pm nothlakes vmax is virtually sold out. Only a few seats left.
Cinema is crazy busy. Hard to imagine this is a working/school day.

If that is the case, A$10mn OD incoming as if I read them right (though I simply scroll read), there are many early morning shows.
IW opened in the afternoon in some states due to Anzac Day trade regulations but it was a public holiday for the whole country. This year Wednesday isn't a public holiday and some states (at least QLD) schools are back. I think that will hurt it's chances of $10mn OD.

How about Avatar 2? Do you think it can reach TFA?
No idea but if I were to take a guess I'd say no.

what did IW gross. How big end game can be. I am assuming Avatar still has the record?
In AUD
Avatar grossed $115.7m
Star Wars TFA $94m
IW $61.8m
Can't see Endgame reaching TFA let alone Avatar

When will AEG start presales? will it have previews/midnight screenings?
Probably the same as in the States, April 2nd.
Not sure if they'll have midnights. Don't think Infinity War did.

Damn but not surprising. Just doesn't seem to be any hype for it here atm. QLD has apparently hit its 4th wave of covid so some mask wearing is recommended again. Wonder if that will effect BO?
Early days though and hopefully WOM helps. I'll be seeing it Sunday.
