  1. Case in point, he was more upset that he didn't win Oscar for Best Writing for Inglorious Basterds than Oscar for Best Directing.
  2. Lincoln is amazing....it will blow by $150m. Another win for Spielberg.http://boxofficemojo...&id=lincoln.htm
  3. $1b is looking good for Hobbit but not guaranteed. What major markets do we have left? China?
  4. I recently watched Tarantino's Howard Stern interview and he said that when films would go overbudget he'd use his back-end money to finish the film. I'm assuming he has really good back-end deals. The guy is worth $90 mil according to Celebrity Networth.com and that's with none of his films being blockbusters in theaters.
  5. Lincoln is not getting his due. :unsure:http://boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=weekend&id=lincoln.htm
  6. Besides Disney live action and animated properties you have Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, and Indiana Jones...sheesh....they're the Exxon of the movie industry. I haven't even touched their Distribution deals.
  7. The way these threads are going, there must be something in the water.
  8. You'll thank me later:http://www.nolanfans...hp?f=17&t=12255#2 and #3....shudder....yes!
  9. First, not all female feet are created equally: I am but not extreme. Let's just say that before I start seriously dating someone I have to take a look at her feet. If they look like they came from Iowa, i.e. corn filled Hammer toes then.......no. A woman with nice shapely toes that aren't too curved (like claws) is a big turnon. Also, feet that don't give off an odor is another must. Fortunately, I haven't come across that too often.
  10. Django Unchained - 9/10Jack Reacher - 8/10Hobbit - 9/10Lincoln - 8/10Skyfall - 9/10
  11. Excellent post.Besides presumably Jaws, what did joy did 1975 bring for young Mr. Gittes?
  12. I will now try to catch every flick Leo is in simply because he is in it. He has been growing on me since Departed.
  13. I know count Death Proof as one of Tarantino's films, and not a half-movie in the same category as Four Rooms. It's a full-length feature film, the extended version is 120+ minutes.
  14. Matrix Reloaded (Superbowl spot)
  15. I created this thread because looking back at the last 362 days, I am struck by how fantastic this year has been for moviegoers. In fact, I'm going to go so far to say that for me 2012 is the best movie year since I really started getting into movies. Check out this list! http://boxofficemojo...?yr=2012&p=.htm Avengers, TDKR, DU, TH1, Lincoln, Skyfall...the list of enjoyable/excellent films goes on and on. While none of 2012 movies cracked my top 5 of all time the cumulative effect tops any other year. PS: I say 'in living memory' because 1939 was just unfair. http://www.films101.com/y1939r.htm
  16. Unfortunately DU doesn't seem like the movie that will play well to overseas audiences (62% of IG's gross came from OS). Hope I'm wrong.
  17. It's almost overkill to keep making this observation..lol Nikki always overestimates, Rth no longer needs to prove himself. It should no longer be a surprise/novelty that he's accurate. His estimates should just be taken for truth. In short, Rth rocks.
  18. Christmas 2013 Opening Days (for now): [*]Jack Ryan Nationwide [*]47 Ronin Nationwide 3D/2D [*]The Secret Life of Walter Mitty Nationwide Looks weak. Les Mis and DU are probably safe at #2 and #3 (unadjusted) until 2014 at the earliest.
  19. Thank you CJohn for my 100th Like! I made mention of this in the Milestone page.
  20. A year from now will there be an Anniversary thread?
  21. Hobbit is now within $5mil of IAL (adj) and that made $291 mil.
