I'd prefer a SHIELD oriented Cap movie rather than a straight up movie of either. Just makes sense. Work in Hydra and Red Skull, they could be much more than they were in the first Cap.

The age doesn't bother me, at least not for Stark or Banner. It would be a real issue if these guys existed in real life, and hey, everyone can relate to getting old.Some of the best stories are about older heroes.Eventually though, there will have to be a replacement.

It will happen, eventually. The first Marvel studios' Spider-Man could well be the Avengers killer.

I doubt Thanos will feature prominantly in A2. For one, it would be tough to top him in the third. Second, he needs some build-up over multiple films to get the most mileage. I expect some teasing in Dr. Strange, Thor, and certainly in a Guardians of the Galaxy film, if they do one.

I back off from saying it's unlikely Batman will die in TDKR. My official position is, "maybe".

It's complicated. I'm not sure DC owns Superman outright, or at least that is the part in contention. They "own" everything that has been done to him since they acquired him. It's complicated and fairly silly.

Captain America could go in Avengers 2. I see his franchise as the least bankable.

It wouldn't have made a difference. These scenes are usually nods to the comic fans. This one is a doozy, with some pretty major implications.The "death" line harkens to Infinity Gauntlet. Which begs the question, is Marvel planning to get the rights to Silver Surfer?

There will be a day when RDJ will not be Iron Man. That will be one rough transition.
