  1. That Godzilla number is insane. I'm going to see it this afternoon, can't wait!
  2. Thats not good and pretty shitty for Sony. From the reviews on this forum and others though I'm going to give it a shot though and see it tonight. I did enjoy TASM.
  3. Yeah school started this week here and last week even in other parts of the country. Summer weekday's are done.
  4. Under 30 for Elysium. Sony's summer of the bomb continues.
  5. A MoS IMAX re release would get me to see it a 3rd time, I would see it in 3D just out of pure curiosity.
  6. 12 movies releasing in 5 weekends will kill any movie's screen count.
  7. Star Trek making it to 225 this week makes me happy. Not as high as I was hoping for, but its good legs are undeniable. Now just give 3 a good release date in 2016 (50th anniversary) and it will do numbers people were expecting STiD to achieve. Lets not forget its by far the highest rated big summer movie by audiences on RT, 92%.
  8. So with that and thursday's domestic number, its over 600 WW.
  9. King Kong did 332m internationally in 2005 without 3D and IMAX, but had Peter Jackson who was the biggest director at the time and an iconic character. I think that with 8 years of inflation and 3D/IMAX plus expanded markets, that should be a goal for this film. It wont do big numbers in europe like Kong did (52m in england for example), but china (12m for kong) and other markets that are a lot bigger now could help close that gap.
  10. So MoS to pass TASM today for biggest reboot domestically.
  11. IM3 had the worst, biggest waste of time and money 3D to me. I felt so ripped off after (aside from the fact that the movie was my biggest letdown of the year). Since then I have only bothered STiD 3D. STiD is how you do 3D conversions, it was fantastic and totally worth it IMO. Unless I read great things about the 3D beforehand (either made in or a fantastic post conversion), I'm not wasting my money. Too many people have been burnt by bad 3D.
  12. Can we stop with the DC/Marvel fanboy wars? They're exhausting to look at and just brings a shitty mood to threads. Is there a thread where they can just shit all over each other instead of bringing it everywhere? Looking around my area showtimes are dramatically decreasing for NYSM, TiTE, Fast 6, and Star Trek. They will probably be all but gone from most theaters here next weekend when of course two more movies come out. If not, then July 19ths 4 fucking movies that nobody asked for will (aside from The Conjuring which looks awesome).
  13. Despicable Me 2 Amstar 12 - Lake Mary Lake Mary, FL Tuesday, July 2nd 10pm 40% full (more adults than kids) Trailers: Smurfs 2: kids laughed Turbo: some laughs Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2: big audience reaction from both adults and kids. This will break the september record, don't be surprised. Looks great! Planes: not much of a reaction, was that Dane FUCKING Cook as the lead voice actor? Enders Game: no reaction, looks expensive Free Birds: laughs from kids and adults, I really like the premise of this. Impressive. Film: It was good. Its not as good as the original, and certainly can't compare to Pixar's best, but it was a lot of fun. The minions and Agnes stole the show, anytime they were on screen you couldn't help but smile. Everybody loved it, very funny, lots of laughs. The CG was astounding, so bright and colorful. It looked just fantastic. They had a lot of 3D money shots during the movie, I could just tell this would look great in 3D. We saw it in 2D because it was so cheap, but knowing what I know now we would have went with 3D. If you like 3D, go see it in that format. You wont regret it. It's always great when you leave a movie happy and in a great mood. Don't expect some animated masterpiece, just expect a good movie and a good time.
  14. Wow just 9K above MoS. Wouldn't be surprises I'd it ended ahead of WHD this weekend.
  15. December 2015 is the obvious choice. A month after the two giant november releases, plenty of time to let them run their course before MoS2 comes out. WB needs to come out and claim MoS2's spot as the big december release, December 18th makes total sense. Only others things currently are Alvin on December 11th and KFP3 December 23rd. It will break The Hobbits december record and then get very strong christmas and new years weekend holds as they both are Friday's that year. The legs will not be cut by insane competition. Its obvious WB! Don't anybody say fucking Avatar 2 either, there is no chance that will before 2016.
  16. What was the china number last week? $25 right? So another $21 this week, that seems good. What kind of total can we expect there?
  17. I believe that is correct. $240 adjusted before 3D and doesn't MoS have a low 3D %?
  18. 20.82, needs to be fixed. Almost $21 million this weekend, very good. Should be finish around $305-$310. So happy for this movie (I love it), let's get that sequel date announced already WB!
  19. Loving that 40% jump for MoS! Must be that awful WOM taking effect right?
  20. Going to see WWZ tonight instead of The Heat. Hope I don't regret it or my wife for letting me choose!
