  1. Seriously, don’t. They NEED a backlash for that thing. Only way to ensure that kind of self-indulgence isn’t attempted again.
  2. To make matters worse, our projector shut down about 10 minutes into the short, and the theater had to start the whole thing all over again from the beginning.
  3. Holy hell. Just got back from Coco. Wonderful movie. But that Frozen “short” is ALMOST a dealbreaker. If it remains attached, I will absolutely recommend Coco with the caveat that you show up to the theater at least 20 minutes late!!!!!
  4. Crap I'm old!!! Oops. It was actually "Sounder". I've always thought it was "The Godfather" Sept 1972
  5. The only problem with Religulous is that it plays like an episode of Punk'd. There are so many interviews where two minutes in the interviewee has this dawning look on their face as they realize the real intention of the interview they agreed to.
  6. The fact that people FORGET that scene... is unfathomable to me. It just goes to show how outrageous the movie really is.
  7. There is now an X-Men franchise film in which the female love interest puts on a strap-on and ass-fucks the hero. What else needs to be said?
  8. Wow. Haven't been on these threads in a while, and I forgot how crazy it gets
  9. Always wanted a sequel to: Zero Effect, Dr. Detroit, Making the Grade. And the sequel I wished we would get: Die Hard 6 - where McLain's whole family is held hostage inside of a single building and he has to save them - at the end, he dies to save them. END OF FRANCHISE.
  10. I hope this franchise can endure and grow, and through the continuation of the MCU that Pratt's StarLord becomes an icon like Ford's Solo.
  11. It's not really a fair question at this juncture. Solo has been cool for three decades. StarLord has been cool for three days. I love both characters, but it's really case of apples and oranges. Or, more appropriately, apples and orange seeds. Give it time. The Han/Indy/Bond question is a much more level-ground competition.
  12. Taking the 6 yr old daughter to see GOTG tonight. IM me if there is anything OVERLY inappropriate or scary that I should be prepared for.
  13. Oh man... they HAD to go all "Of Mice and Men" on that little shit. When she turned her back on Carol, I told my wife, "Tell me about those rabbits, Lenny."
  14. The mystery element was fantastic. Every potential suspect had a viable motivation/background. I really couldn't figure out who the baddie was going to be. The execution/editing/pacing had a slight level of detachment for me. It was like watching any other Steven Segal or Die Hard-knockoff movie. Not to say it wasn't fun. I really enjoyed it but it definitely had a sense of non-tethered-ness... if that makes sense.
  15. Drama about an agoraphobic person being evicted from the apartment building he hasn't left in 20 years. (You can tell what era I grew up in - all of my scenarios sound like superficial 80s flicks) Atomic Wedgies
  16. Buddy cop comedy about two detectives (John Moods & Michael Swings) who get assigned to each other only to find out they are both bi-polar with multiple personalities. Bench Press.
  17. The story of the first person ever cured of Parkinson's .... yeah... I know...that was kinda dark... So how about this? The story of a kid's party clown (Shakes) who wakes up in a hangover after a heavy night of drinking only to find that his costume is missing and he has only one hour until the most important party of his career to track down what he did with it during his drunken stupor (a la "Dude Where's My Car?"). "Film At Eleven"
  18. Kid's fare set in the Everglades about a humanoid half-crocodile/half-bullfrog creature created from illegally dumped toxic waste who falls in love with the female lead EPA investigator who has been sent into the wetlands to seek out the root of discrepancies in an evil industrialist's ledgers involving waste disposal. The woman investigator is currently burying herself in her work due to the fact that her husband was recently killed in a freak accident - one that involved being eaten by a crocodile while trying to catch a bullfrog for their son's science project. She battles her inner demons by confronting Swampy - a creature that embodies everything about her late husband's demise - and overcoming her turmoil by battling to save his existence. ... or something like that... "Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Anorexic Glutton."
  19. Crazed necrophiliac is attacked by his taxidermy-victims. Everything's Coming Up Roses.
  20. Almost every movie that involves an MRI machine. Or where they have x-rays hanging in the background (back in the pre-digital world when there were such things as lightboxes and actual films). Those films were almost always hung backwards or upside down... or you could tell from the quality of the film that they had gotten it from the recycle bin because the images were undiagnostic. But I always cringe at movies where the MRI machine snatches the gun away from someone about ten feet away. Or there's an actual doctor PERFORMING the MRI or standing next to the machine with a pager or a cell phone or a clipboard while the patient is having the test.
  21. I think Cap will be battling Bucky in front of a Palpatine-like Redford a la ROTJ. There will be a change of heart when Steve finally gets through to Bucky who will then turn on Redford and sacrifice himself when he crashes the #42 Helicarrier (seen at the end of the trailer) while Cap manages to escape from it at the last moment.
  22. When I saw this preview in front of "Dallas Buyers Club", my wife and I looked at each other audibly groaned. But... this SHOULD win Best Picture. "12 Years a Slave" was a good and important film, but this film is the perfect marriage of an exploration of the human condition and a scathing commentary on our dependency on technology and social media. I mean... hell... they were pretty much talking about what WE are doing right now... connecting with people through the internet. I LOVE this movie. And will be watching it again as soon as I possibly can.
