  1. I post my list in the voting thread, as well as sending it via private message. So everyone can see my vote, and also see that I didn’t edit the post recently. That safeguards the integrity of my vote at least. Although it is still very unfair to have to tabulate all the votes again.
  2. What you said was that Eisner said Disney is about making money. Eisner did not say that at all. He was working at Paramount and made no mention of Disney in the quote. You were wrong and are too cowardly to admit it. My reading comprehension is fine. You don’t know what you’re talking about. Maybe one of your other accounts will come to your rescue now.
  3. I really don’t think that there’s anything you can do. You shouldn’t have to go through the trouble of having a new vote. You put a lot of work into this. It’s just a horrible situation, and very unfair to you and everyone that voted. However, I think the best course of action is just leave it as it is and don’t reference its results when you do a vote for this topic next time. I can’t believe anyone would be petty enough to do something like this.
  4. What you said was factually incorrect. You said that Eisner said that about Disney. I said that he was talking about movies in general while working at Paramount. Stop trying to backtrack. You were wrong. Accept it and move on.
  5. Eisner did not say that about Disney. Eisner said that movies were about making money. He said that when he was working for Paramount.
  6. I will be cheering on Avatar 2 as well. If Avengers: Endgame keeps the record, that's great. If Avatar 2 breaks the record, that's great too. Either way, I'll be happy.
  7. I really never cared about the WW record. I only really care about domestic grosses adjusted for inflation. There, Gone with the Wind is number 1. However, when Star Wars: The Force Awakens broke the domestic gross record, it was a nice accomplishment. Then, all of a sudden, there were these people who acted like Avatar was still the king because WW is what REALLY matters. That irked me because I felt like it diminished the accomplishments of Gone with the Wind and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. That made me want one of the movies that I loved to take Avatar down. Avengers: Endgame having the WW crown doesn't do much for me because I care about domestic adjusted grosses. However, I never have to listen to the moving goal posts again. Either Gone with the Wind has the record (domestic adjusted gross), Star Wars: The Force Awakens (domestic), or Avengers: Endgame (WW) . . . take your pick. Avengers: Endgame beating people at their own game (WW gross) does feel kind of nice.
  8. I remember him getting temporarily suspended a little while after that for sending me insulting private messages, but I am unaware of any other time that he was suspended. I do not believe that he was banned from that weekend thread. Someone correct me if I am wrong. I do not believe he was permanently banned.
  9. It was horrific. You had this tool named GiantCalBears disparaging Rth for over-estimating AOU’s initial nunbers. It was so disgraceful and pathetic that I don’t care if I get banned for calling him out on being a toolbox. For anyone to insult Rth is pathetic.
  10. Thank you for pointing that out to me. That was some excellent research by you.
  11. After doing extensive research, you are right. Fox is the studio that initiated the movie and financed the majority of the movie. Despite Paramount getting domestic distribution rights, Fox was the studio that was setting the release date. Titanic is clearly Fox’s movie. I am going to list Titanic under Fox.
  12. The Paramount case was because Paramount did have a monopoly by owning all of the movie theaters in Detroit. It had nothing to do with their movie studio being a monopoly. Disney does not own a chain of movie theaters.
  13. The list has been updated to reflect the addition of Toy Story 4. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban has been removed from the list.
  14. James Bond is a male fantasy character. That's really the whole point of the franchise. The more they get away from that, the more watered-down the character becomes. Having a female starring in the role, even if she doesn't play James Bond, destroys the whole concept of the franchise. I don't know what modern audiences want, but that concept will not appeal to the traditional Bond audience. It can't because it is on the other end of the spectrum from a male fantasy.
  15. That article is news to me. What was reported months ago was that the deal with Sony and Disney over Spider-Man expired after this movie. There was speculation that Sony may not renew the deal. This article makes it sound like if certain milestones are reached, then the deal automatically renews for at least a little longer. That’s the first time that I am hearing about that clause, but it is certainly believable.
  16. I am so glad I never joined movie pass. I am very happy being an AMC A-Lister.
  17. Glad to see The Avengers made the list. Disappointed that Captain America: The First Avenger didn’t make the list.
  18. The time has come. The one movie with the potential to ruin my "Disney to have the top 4 domestic grossing movies" club, If the final gross is less than Captain Marvel, my club should be a success. If it goes over Captain Marvel, and TS4 doesn't develop amazing legs, then Frozen 2 and Star Wars will both have to hit it out of the ballpark.
  19. I am really surprised how well it is holding. I am not sure if it'll reach $350M, but it's the movie that finally broke Disney's Memorial Day curse. It's also the best performance for a Will Smith movie in a long time. Disney has so many blockbusters in theaters at the same time right now, and they aren't cannibalizing each other.
  20. I can only speak for myself, but you’re right. However, it isn’t the Avengers that protects the realm. There is a higher power. One that has taken over Avatar’s film studio, taken over its franchise, and will one day take its WW box office crown.
  21. It’s possible. But it’s also one of those cross-overs like Freddy v Jason and Alien v Predator where it’s about the dream matchup of Godzilla fighting King Kong.
