Watchmen still remains one of the best one for me. On a side note, the opening and montage at the start of the movie are just perfect.

Is anyone else of the opinion that EG has impacted the demographic of the BO tracking landscape? I'm personally quite happy to see more people interested in the business, but have seen grumbling by others.
Big movies tend to do that. Titanic, TPM, Avatar... all did that to a certain degree. I always welcome newcomer to this topic.

There's already an online petition to have Disney release the Zack Snyder cut of The Rise of Skywalker...
It's a matter of time before we get one for Avatar.

I can't believe FOX re-released Avatar on August 27th to push Disney to re-release Avengers Endgame 9 years later . Talk about incredible foresight but petty competition!

I can't believe the timing of my post and your reply. I'll admit that I was half baiting (it's not my first "doubt"post), but while I can now believe we'll have to wait another year to see this movie, it sucks we'll have to deal with the extra fanboys competing against the extra non fanboys.... on top of having to wait for the goddamn movie!

I am bummed about the release date change, because JC is responsible for two of my favorite movies (Aliens & Terminator 1) and I wanted to see more from him...
that being said, the timing of the announcement was just perfect, coming on the heels of one poster willing to bet money that this would come out in 2020.
Really should have taken that bet!

As of May 7th 2019, I still don't believe Avatar 2 is going to be released in 2020.
1 hour ago, Pure Spirit said:I'd put money on it making the 2020 release date, considering A2 is already in post. James Cameron made Terminator 2 in 9 months, when he's ready to make a film, he's ready, and 2020 is such a perfect release date it's hard to fathom imagining JC pushing it out again.
Wow - should have taken that bet... ROFL

It could go either way. Endgame has already burned an insane amount of demand but we're also in the Endgame. Gonna go with 120-210m this weekend.
I wouldn't try to narrow it this tight, while 100M$ is certainly guaranteed, beat IW a second time is also in the cards.
100M-258M$

Watch just 1 sequel on 1 film leave EG dusted. Jim is an unstoppable force of nature and the only way to beat him is when he hasnt released anything for 10 years.
We'll cross that bridge when we get there. In the meantime, keep following the river or risk drowning.

People need to remember that TFA didn't have a 50M$+ opener against it until Deadpool opened on its 9th weekend. Endgame should be facing 50M+$ openers starting on its 3rd weekend for the rest of the summer (DP, John Wick maybe, Aladdin, Godzilla, Secret Life of Pets/Dark Phoenix to an extent, MIB/TS4).
Theater owners will face though choices regarding how many screens they can devote to an "aging" Endgame.
It will be a fun ride to see how that turns out.

I went to a 2 AM show of Endgame yesterday and it was 80%-85% full. This is just out of this world.

James Cameron best work remains on the Laser Cats movie (Laser Cats 5).

Captain Marvel can still be over 15m and even 16m-17m above THG next weekend with a little boosted weekdays and weekend.
I'm definitely on board with this. HG dropped 48% in the comparable upcoming weekend (but then dropped 18% the next one).

Dave Filoni is the most important person at Lucasfilms period. As long as he's involved with the franchise, I'll have confidence Star Wars will rebound from its lowest lows and maintain its highest highs.

You guys have tunnel vision. Look over to the original Hunger Games comparison which was released in March and offer a better day by day comparison.
CM is 17M$ ahead of HG, a lead it has maintained for the last 14 days on average. It is also keeping this pace over the last 5 comparable days.
At this point in its run, Hunger Games was about to hit "summer" days (May) in two weeks with 40M$ left in the tank after that. Memorial day was 43 days away and it gained 12M$ after that holiday. Granted, Hunger Games developed some pretty good late legs with 30% and 26% drops over the next two weekends.
Captain Marvel will face a soft direct competitor this weekend with Shazam, will benefit from an Easter boost in less than three weeks and will be affected (positively or negatively) by Endgame in 23 days at which point it should be around 395M$-405M$ and still doing 5-8M$ per week if it's keeping with the original Hunger Games patterns (as it has been for the last 2 weeks)
If it keeps that 17M$ lead throughout its run, it will finish at 425M$.
@tawasal @Thanos Legion @Brainbug
Just an update guys. CM's lead over HG has shrunk from 17M$ to 14,5M$. It did not match the extremely good drops of HG's w-e # 5 & 6, but it did very well with 39% and 31%. HG's 7th W-E was a 48% drop, so I believe CM can keep its 14M$ lead over the next 7-10 days. Still not enough to match HG:CF at 424M$, but chances are very high it will end up above 420M$ considering the next two weekends it won't have competition from major openers and Endgame effect might even give it a push before it opens.

I'm sure if you look at years when Christmas lands on a Tuesday, you will find plenty of examples...

The only thing worse than the people who are attacking Brie Larson and Captain Marvel are the people who seek to put that actress and character on an untouchably high pedestal.

I'd pay to see Avatar in theaters again.... but that's only if they are really serious about ever releasing a sequel.
