I'm very confused these days... I've watched both Shazam and Captain Marvel and loved both of them. My inner fanboy demons are at each other's throat trying to establish dominance over one another. My MCU demon (lovingly called Doctor Captain Thanos of the Galaxy) has been gathering infinity kidney stones to pummel my DCEU demon (adequately called Wonder Man of Suicide League) who's been putting together some Father Cardboxes to repel the MCU invaders. Meanwhile, my Star Wars fanboy demon (Darth Jar Jar) is just sitting on the sideline eating pop corn while my Deadpool fanboy demon (Colonel Deadpool) has been commenting the whole fight and live streaming it through Twitch.tv. Anyway, go Team EO17CU !

Instead of complaining about them, you should celebrate the fact that primates have evolved to be able to use keyboards, learn basic language skills and post anti SJW comments. What a time to be alive!

That's a very good comparison, might be enough to make me see the light on this one.

SMH made 60M$ after a 13M$ 4th weekend - it dropped 62%-50% and 40% after its first weekend CM is coming off a 20,6M$ 4th weekend and it dropped 56%-50% and 40% after its first weekend CM doesn't need the same SMH legs to get to 415M$. It needs a 3X from its 4th weekend to achieve 415M$ and 3,5X to match HG:CF. SMH got a 4,6X multi after that 4th weekend. CW made 35M$ after a 15M$ 4th weekend which was Memorial day WE. It dropped 60%-55% and 53% (Sunday boosted by Memorial day). It achieved a 2,3X multi after its 4th weekend Civil War is a poor comparison for the later part of the run because it was clearly already dropping like a rock at this point.

Never compare legs between a christmas holiday release and any other time. That holiday period adds on average 1X to any multiplier.

Still think it's going to be closer to CF than to HG (which means a little over 416M$)

You guys have tunnel vision. Look over to the original Hunger Games comparison which was released in March and offer a better day by day comparison. CM is 17M$ ahead of HG, a lead it has maintained for the last 14 days on average. It is also keeping this pace over the last 5 comparable days. At this point in its run, Hunger Games was about to hit "summer" days (May) in two weeks with 40M$ left in the tank after that. Memorial day was 43 days away and it gained 12M$ after that holiday. Granted, Hunger Games developed some pretty good late legs with 30% and 26% drops over the next two weekends. Captain Marvel will face a soft direct competitor this weekend with Shazam, will benefit from an Easter boost in less than three weeks and will be affected (positively or negatively) by Endgame in 23 days at which point it should be around 395M$-405M$ and still doing 5-8M$ per week if it's keeping with the original Hunger Games patterns (as it has been for the last 2 weeks) If it keeps that 17M$ lead throughout its run, it will finish at 425M$.
