It's easy to shit-talk DC after Justice League bombed but don't go pretending Marvel has better fight sequences.
Post a better Marvel fight I'll be waiting.
I fucking love BvS, fuck the haters!

From Dusk till Dawn is the best vampire story. Mostly the sequels though

Well it's over halfway through production now so don't bet on this claim too hard.
I'll believe it when I see a trailer. I was really hyped for that movie about 4 years ago. This is getting ridiculous.

I don't believe this is coming out in 2020.

I know it may seem like a joke, but SW Youtubers do have a lot of influence on the fanbase.
and they get a lot more views by ranting rather than by praising. That's just the YT model

Yes.
He was re-introduced in the Clone Wars tv show at the end of Season 4 (with a robotic lower half) and was a recurring villain in the final main season (not counting the truncated season 6 that was dumped onto Netflix). He then returned at the very end of Season 2 of the Rebels tv show and again recurred as a villain in a few Season 3 episodes until Obi-Wan killed him on Tatooine in the penultimate episode in 5 seconds.
That scene was very well done. It showed the motivation of both characters and also the wit and mastery of Obiwan. Tricking Maul by using the same stance as Qui Gonn and Maul falling for it is simply awesome.
Well done Rebels and well done LF for making this cannon to the GA.

@Water Bottle as a huge SW fan, I tend to tune out the bad parts and focus on the good parts more. This would be the reason why the prequels rank much higher in my rankings.
1. ESB
2. ROTJ
3. ROTS
4. TPM
5. TFA
6. R1
7. TLJ
8. ANH
9. SOLO
10. AOTC
11. TCW
I'm really not a fan of the pacing that ANH has. I understand it's a very different movie era, but I just can't rewatch it.

I can think of some big recent flicks that felt like something a lot more than an "unnecessary but fun ride". Fury Road, Bladerunner 2049, The Martian, Logan, Interstellar, War for Planet of the Apes.. etc. I think thats the problem with these new Star Wars flick is that they have a superficiality to them and feel more like mere products with checklists(even TLJ to a degree) than movies and I suspect it'll get worse as Disney rolls them off the assembly line 1-2 times per year. I mean really... Han Solo, Boba Fett, Obi-wan, and Yoda movies are in the works? How fucking boring is that? Why not *gasp* come up with something entirely new? If Disney really wants to make a thousand Star Wars movies, then why not come up with entirely new stories with new characters without any connections to stuff we've already seen? Set it a 2000 years past the events of the OT or in the future if you have to. I understand that would require some risk and creativity, but this nostalgia surfboard that they're currently on isn't gonna last.
They took a huge risk with how they handled TLJ and look what happened... they need to play safe. Go back to rehashing the OT like they did with TFA. Fans are still praising TFA like it's the Holy Grail...Disney go back to just rebooting the OT like you did with TFA.

Oh, I would love to be the Fly On The Wall at LucasFilms and Disney over the next week or so......
JJ just has to remake another SW classic and all will be forgotten! The fans will come back in droves!

i thought CNN was trying to shake their fake news image
They'd have to get rid of all opinion pieces... in fact all news websites would need to get rid of this aspect to get rid of fake news. Don't see this happening.

I see everyone is having a circle jerk on these SOLO #s.
All the while I enjoyed a very good SW movie. Unnecessary but a fun ride, which is what movies are all about.

The amount of moviegoers affected by a minor character being recast compared to the likes of Han and Lando is infinitesmall.
Obi Wan was recast and no one complained.

Nobody gives a flying fuck about Tarkin besides nerds though. Also, Tarkin wasn't advertised.
Well this is a BO forum. We are all nerds here. So what's your point?

Solo recast main characters. That's a turn-off. RO didn't recast anyone. It had a new set of bland characters but as long as the movie doesn't shit on old favorites audience is receptive. One of reasons for TLJ discord is what was done to Luke. I think that LF underestimated the level of Ford/Han identification (this isn't Batman or Bond that could be played by various actors).
Pretty sure Tarkin was recast...

From what I am seeing seems like the type of movie everyone will like but no one will go nuts about. Thta's good, reception should be better than TLJ.
Yeah that about sums it up.

Wow, the first new movie that threw a nice bone to the EU fans!
The Maw
Sabbacc
Teras Kasi
Robot legs Maul
Really liked the movie, fan reaction to Maul reveal was awesome!

Apparently Solo had worse Wednesday previews than AOTC had Wednesday MIDNIGHT previews! Just a reminder that AOTC opened to under 90M$!!!

I thought there was a chance for a big break out and a return to MI2 heights after Protocol's success but it just didn't grow from there. I don't see making a big enough leap domestically to hit that MI2 high again - a pity since the last couple have been so great and MI2 stinks.
It's going to have a pretty clear August, so if reception is good, legs could be strong. Although getting in the top 5 DOM this year will probably require between 375M-425M. Even top 10 could be a stretch for a well received MI:F

Can the Mission Impossible movies ever go back to top 5 DOM? The best that they did since since MI2 got #3 in 2000 was #7 with Ghost Protocol in 2011.

Someone said that RO was at 18% on MT on Saturday BUT also need to take into account competition.
But regardless Solo is doing weak ass presales at my theater.
That % without knowing how many tickets are being sold total means nothing.

Deadpool beats Spider Man once again. Crazy to think a D list superhero generates more revenue than A list combo movie of Spider Man and now A lister Iron Man.
Maybe Sony should ask Warner Bros to borrow Batman in the next SM movie, maybe that'll help??

So GOTG was at 125M$ before it got it's sequel bump and 80% of that is 99M$. DP was at 100M$ when the sequel got released. I believe I nailed that one!
