  1. I keep clicking this thread thinking there's some news to discuss and I don't know why I think that every time afterwards.
  2. I would not be surprised if they had agreed to do another Matrix movie in order to get JA greenlit.
  3. More like "we should probably stop giving so much money to the Wachowskis".
  4. A movie has been quoted, it is automatically considered a good movie now. I actually liked Godzilla, but I know I'm in the minority there.
  5. I thought that 30M number was for the weekend. Jesus, this is insane and for an R-rated movie at that.
  6. Do you actually know people that use those quotes? And other people instantly get the quote? The only one I think is recognizable is "Puny god" and that one seems hard to use in conversation.
  7. Was Avengers a quotable movie? I honestly can't think of quotes from that movie.
  8. It helps to have amazing source material that contains all of that incredible plot, character, and twists. And it seems like most book readers are fully satisfied with the first season. The problem I've had with D&D as they've tried to condense the books to TV is they seem to lack the understanding of some of the character motivations that lead up to key events that they have to use from the books.
  9. "No show is ranked where it is supposed to be." - Everyone in this thread. I do think that judging by the amount of high rated cable dramas that not enough people have seen Deadwood, Rome, and Carnivale given their respective positions. That seems to be a flaw in using a cumulative points system, it tends to lean towards what has been viewed by a wider audience. I really can't see a way around that problem, though.
  10. Hahaha, so what the hell happened to this show after the 100th or so episode? The ratings for it just plummet.
  11. To be honest, when I made my list, I just ignored the bad seasons of many shows and focused on the good seasons and rated them accordingly from that. Shows like Heroes, Dexter, X-Files, Alias and others benefited from that distinction.
  12. Yay, someone else put Homicide on their list and #1 at that. I don't know who it was, but I highly recommend The Wire to that person.
  13. Can we stop equating Sony and movie theater chains to America, please?
  14. We're not even in the top 100 yet and people are complaining about shows that made the list?
  15. If there's any shows that don't have blurbs that are on my list, let me know and I can whip some up for them. Preferably stuff nearer to the top of it since those are probably fresher in my mind.
  16. This movie reminds me of how I felt about KFP 2. I liked the original a lot, and the sequel isn't bad, it's just serviceable and doesn't trigger any strong feelings towards it.
  17. Wait, someone had Transformers 2 as their #1 sci-fi film? Why do I get the feeling I know who that is.
  18. I wish we could have used 2014 movies as well. I feel like Interstellar and Edge of Tomorrow would have made the list. Maybe Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, but I haven't seen that yet.
  19. Do not go gentle into that good night...Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
  20. Yeah it's not like there's a lot of groundbreaking, exceptional sci-fi movies since 2000. Sunshine is a solid film that isn't terrible or boring, thus it makes my list. It seems like most people downgrade it because of the sudden change in tone in the 3rd act. Since it didn't bother me when I viewed it other than an initial 'wtf is going on here', I didn't lower it on my list.
  21. I really wanted to like Cloud Atlas, but could never get into the movie. The only storyline I remember liking and wanting to see more of was the futuristic one with the asian clones.
