  1. So the creators of humans did not create the xenomorphs, it was instead the creation of humans that did.

Worse than Prometheus. Nothing intriguing about the storyline. No real history told about the engineers. I know David was always a prick but didn't really explain why he killed Shaw via facehugger. Also he experimented with the black liquid and a fly and eventually ended up with the face huggers...which obviously must have been quite a few years after he killed the engineers. So Shaw was alive all those years? She witnessed the destruction of the engineer people but nothing was shown from her point of view. Was she complicit or was she a prisoner?

Anyways, very disappointed. Very weak storyline.

thinking about it now, maybe David killed Shaw before he got to the engineer planet and kept her deceased body to experiment on. But needed a live host to see the full results. Meh still a D

Here's a little trivia: Back in the day when I posted at RT, I used too propped AVP up quite a bit, referring to Paul WS Anderson as Paul "The Man" Anderson cause I too thought the movie was good at that time for a "VS" movie.. Problem was, was that I predicted 250-300M Domestic for the movie and it barely scratched a 100M Domestic, maybe less, if I'm not mistaken.. I ultimately was banned from RT because of this.. LOL!! I trolled like no other back in 2004 at RT..

  3. a good fun movie. Nothing more nothing less. Very funny. Probably the funniest Marvel movie for me, though at times the jokes did fall flat. I didn't like Drax too much in the first movie but he was better here. Although his interactions with Mantis were priceless, some of his jokes with the others were cringe.

Story was kinda meh to be honest. I don't know why Marvel likes killing villains with potential for multiple arcs. But anyhow i wasn't a fan of them changing J'son to Ego being his father anyway so good riddance. Yondu's arc was good.

A planet with billions of years of experience in using the light vs a newbie and he still lost lol.

Too many jokes about penis' and sex to show this to my little nephew.

Anyways i still enjoyed it. It was fun and i wanna see more of these characters.

  4. Finally saw it yesterday. It was a bit slow in the beginning but towards the end it became the perfect film to finish off 2016 with. I was truly sad at the ending. I knew it was inevitable due to the dialogue from a new hope that references Rogue Ones actions but now whenever i will see that scene i will feel and know their sacrifice. The ending was truly beautiful.

As for Vaders final scene....goosebumps. Tarkin was well done as was leia. It was evident that they were both CGI but who cares.

  5. Just wow. Could barely look at the screen from the second the episode started. One of the best i have ever seen of any series. My heart was about to burst out of my chest with the tension. Amazing. I usually watch the walking dead once the whole season is finished but i decided the watch the first episode due to getting spoiled about Glenns death. Did not know about the rest though. But still hit me hard.

  6. Good movie. Not as good as the previous 2 but definitely a a nice third movie.

Spock and Bones worked well. Gave Karl Urban a bigger role thankfully. Also as Filmbuff noted, people got mixed up well with different people to expand on their characters. Well done Lin and Pegg.

Wasn't too fond of the villain and his motivations. His swarm drones were good but his ancient weapon was not really scary. His swarm of ships would have been terrifying enough to be honest. They were pretty devastating. Once the end battle moved away from them the movie went a bit downhill.

Other than that enjoyed it throughout. Would like to see Jaylah return in the next one.

  7. a movie that should have been made between 2000-2001. Felt like i was just watching a standard movie with no real emotional connection. i also hate hive queens that are copied off the original Alien queen. Even if this one is Godzilla sized. The movie started of well....it just didnt go anywhere. So after 20 years they came along with just 1 bigger ship. How bout come along with 5 of those to really punish us humans? I dont know. This just needed to be made atleast 15 years ago. Pity. Its not awful its just .....meh

Just saw it last night, and I walked in with the lowest expectations........and unfortunately I wasn't proved corrected.

First of all, the movie felt nothing like the game for me, I mean seriously how lazy are the writers/director for making all the characters 95% all warriors and the last 5% because 2 mages and whatever you wanna call the villain (I consider him a mage too). I mean really would it have been hard for the creators to just start with the basics and introduce SOME of the classes like maybe a rogue? (now come on, that would of been pretty badass to see) A hunter? Priest? Hell why not just make one of the warriors at least a Paladin for christ's sake. I know perhaps they couldn't do all of em, but would a little variety help? Jeez, it was just so boring seeing a billion boring warriors over an over again just fighting swords and axes. For example the first battle in Elwynn forest with the horde could have soooooo better had you have variety styles of fighting (warriors fighting with swords, say maybe a warlock range fighting with spells and even a pet, or you could have had a hunter with a bow and arrow badassing it. It would of even been cool to see a priest actually maybe healing someone to add another big detail of how the game works). It just seemed so lazy and it took my already low expectations even lower.

Secondly, again with the characters, none of them stood out to me. I really felt like they really just through a bunch of characters at us and didn't bother to really give them much merit. I guess Durotan maybe stood a bit out, but then against the rest were so dull that I'm not if he's standing out really do to him being interesting or if it's just a lack of interesting characters around him. I found the whole romance between Garona and the main character (not really bothered to look up his name as he wasn't really interesting to remember period) to be kind of weird and just plain awkward. The scene where he loses his son was just not emotional what so ever, because again I felt no connection what so ever.

I just feel like the movie would have been so much better had they just tried simplifying it a bit rather than going in a bunch of different directions and too many characters have motives. That shit works in sequels because you have an understanding of them and have world building. Throwing a whole bunch of shit in a first movie just makes it complicated and really just bad. Being a horde fan, I actually would of loved this movie better had they made this from the perspective of the Alliance, flesh out and introduce characters perhaps a warrior like the main character, but also have like I said others such as a rogue, warlock, and so forth (maybe like 4 or them?) and perhaps just focus on life on one side (aka alliance, just because for a movie's sake it would help the general audience who doesn't play the game learn it better rather than going to the horde side) and getting to know the cities like Stormwind, Ironforge, and so forth (one of the bright things the movie did was making the cities look identical to the game). Would it make audiences look badly on the horde? Yeah it probably would, and I wouldn't mind it as guess what, you can always explain their side later in the movie or hell better yet save the twist for the sequel, thus the sequel being more horde orientated.

I just feel like this movie in terms of story telling was totally rushed and seemed to skip so much from the games. It's almost as if they're just rushing through material just so they can get to Lich King. Even some of the CGI work in this wasn't great, like when they rode they Hippogryph it just looked really fake to me, not a very good cgi. Music at least was good, but again it's one of the few things going for it.

To sum it up, I knew that it was going to have flaws considering how enormous of a Game it is and how much story there is, but god it just looked like they didn't even try to incorporate even the biggest details of the game into this. I'm hugely dissapointed. I give this a big fat solid D and and an overall score of 4/10.

Mostly agree. Didnt feel like warcraft. I blame the human actors. They were just so bad. So so bad. The movie needed to be atleast 30 mins longer to atleast flesh some of these characters out. Also the armour for the humans was so clean and shiny. Had these guys ever seen battle before?

  9. hmmm. As someone who plays world of warcraft and has read every novel and lore literature available i am very disappointed in the story. When youre trying to get new fans dont leave plot holes and half answered mysteries that really dont make sense (looking at you the black cube with Alodi in it).

I really liked the orcs. I thought they were the best part of the movie. There was real inner conflict there. The humans though were some of the worst. Absolute shite and cheap actors that had no real expressions and couldn't carry a tv advert let alone a movie. Lothar was probably the only one i liked though i felt he wasn't written well. Medhiv and the King were the worst. The kings talk with Garona at the end to kill him didnt make sense and Medhiv was just shit. Sorry but that is not the guardian of Azeroth.

They took Sargeras and the burning legion out of the story hence why it was pointless. The only mention was of Garona telling the humans of  Guldan hearing a demons voice to open a portal. At the end it seemed that may have been Medhiv when he got corrupted by Fel magic.

Very sad how this movie turned out. I expected better.

CGI was fine in places but there is just so much of it it takes you out of the scene. LOTR had actual backdrops which melded everything together. This sadly did not. The Hobbit movies did it better but even they couldnt bring back the magic of the original trilogy.

It was hinted Medhiv was Garonas father. He gave her a flower gift why? did he know she was his? guess we will not know now that he is dead!

So Blackhand is bad...but wait he has honor....But wait he is bad....but wait, honor...Wait strongest orc...Wait he got his nuts sliced. The end. Worst orc ever.

They needed to explain more on Guldan and how he and medhiv encountered fel magic.

I enjoyed some parts. hated others. Also hate love stories that come out of nowhere and make me cringe.

Is it more of the same just "bigger and better" or do they actually do something different with the film?:)

I found it to be bigger yes. It had its cheesy moments. But when you hear little kids laughing in the audience you understand the target demographic it was meant for. So you can forgive it. Not particularly impressed with the villains. Was rushed and absolutely no build up. Literally just popped out of the blue with no real explanation.

More screen time between the brothers which was good. I felt they missed it abit in the first one.

Anyways dont go in expecting the best of the summer. See it for what it is. A decent time pass.

  11. It was a good movie. Wont go into too much detail. I enjoyed pretty much all the characters. Quicksilver stood out as usual. It seemed they cut down on Mystique being the center which was good. That opening scene was great. Just have a few big gripes about the villain-s.

Apocalypse seemed ok. I just didnt like his face. There were so many close ups of his face and you could see he was caked up in the make up. Like absolutely layers of that shit. It also seemed that prosthetic stuff on his forward push his brow down. Hence his face looked as though he was old and tired. There was nothing really menacing about his look. His suit looked good. But he was also too short for this role. He didnt stand out at all. Its a pity because he is my favourite Xmen villain and probably in the top 3 for Marvels villains.

As for the horsemen. WTF. They got their asses handed to them. The original horsemen in the beginning were amazing. You could see they had true power and loved and served their Lord. But in this one 2 of them were just kids while one was grieving and the other (Psylocke) made no sense. Why did she join the team? absolutely no back story. I also expected better from her. Abit underwhelmed.

Where did Apocalypse get that technology (or magic?) from in ancient Egypt?

Jeans Phoenix force was again shat on. Come on man. You could make a whole movie about what that force is. Just put the fucking Shiar aliens in there already. Could have explained Apocalypses tech that way too.

Phoenix came out of nowhere too to kill Apocalypse. There only one little scene in the beginning but no real explanation of whats inside her and why. A perfect mid credit scene would be in outer space a Shiar ship picks up the Phoenix force burst and heads towards Earth. But nope.

    Magneto killed millions no?

Anyways even with these complaints i thought it was a decent movie. I enjoyed it and would recommend others to watch it. There is definitely a lot of steam left in this franchise.

Mid credit scene. Mr Sinister ftw. Though its a bit daunting to come up with a story after you just showed the oldest and most powerful mutant in history.
