I am not trying to diminish its accomplishments - I love THG! - but I feel like it was absolutely ingenious for Lionsgate to release it in March.

Yes, but I think he is arguing that despite the deflated weekday, THG still had a big drop on its second weekend, so if TDKR, with its high weekday numbers, can still beat THG on its second weekend, it should be headed for $450m.THG had great amazing legs after the second weekend, though, so we'll see...

Good to hear! I am 23...I honestly don't know one person my age that doesn't like the movie. Really a defining movie for my generation, but I don't know how it's perceived amongst the younger and older crowds

I can only hope that such a far superior film over TF2, TDKR, coming off of a far superior movie than TF1, TDK, can beat TF2's $427m...

Before or after re-releases?

I thought this would be a fun way to chart how many times each of us has seen the movie, especially as some of us are doing our own little part to increase its b.o. numbers. Feel free to keep track of each viewing - sharing crowd reports, new/changing impressions of the film, etc. - and changing your "vote" accordingly.Fans only, please (hence why I started the poll at 1, not 0).For my part, I have seen it three times, including one time on IMAX 15/70. I want to squeeze one more viewing in before Sunday is over. I think I ultimately saw TDK five times in theaters (I'd also be interested in hearing how many times you saw that film).

When did Hunger Games' legs kick in? By its third weekend? Maybe that would be a good indicator to see if TDKR has it in it.

Isn't it a U.S. thing too? Maybe it's our proximity to Canada but most, if not all, the theaters in the Minneapolis metro offer discounted tickets on Tuesdays.

It was much deeper into its run, but TDK still managed to increase 60% Thursday-Friday on the day of opening ceremonies. Interpret that how you will.

Is there a way to quantify what TDKR's gross would be if it were in 3D?
