A near $20M total gross after the 4-day period for Broly would be a massive success for it and it makes me wonder just how impressive the next movie will look like, because some scenes in this one were absolutely stunning.

It's easily the best Dragon Ball movie to date,and these numbers are a testament to it. Shame it didn't have a similar increase over Resurrection F in Japan, that's mostly due to Frieza being a very popular character there.

It's extremely popular, I would argue it's more popular than ever. Even the mobile game Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle was in the top 10 highest grossing mobile games in 2018, 3 years after its release, and that's no small feat if you look at how much the highest grossing mobile games actually make (a lot). The most recent PC/consoles game, Dragon Ball FighterZ, sold millions of copies in 2018. The movie has already grossed $33M in Japan since its December release there, and is breaking out in other foreign markets. BOM has it at $53.5M currently, so whatever it grosses in the US is just icing on the cake now.
