  1. Well, they threw out the timeline of the game in season one with this taking place a couple of centuries after The Big One rathern then just 80 years, so...........
  2. Agreed. The big problem is they do not have legal rights to the Silmarallion, and the is where Tolkine really goes into detail about the material covered in the first season. I particuallry think doing the whole Fall of Numenor storyline without access to the Akallabeth, the section of the Silmarssion dealing with jus that, is a bad,bad idea. And "Sauron the Fair" looks ridiculous. Of course, they should have done Sauron the Fair from the beginning, that is the way it is in the books, rather then what we got. He does not masquerade like he did in the first season, he proclaims he is Sauron, but a new reforemed Sauron, now just trying to do the will of the Valar to make amends for his following Melkor. He is lying, of course, but it makes more sense then what we got in season one. I just HATE seeing the works of Tolkien treated like a freaking comic book franchise.
  3. She does seem to be for BUrton what Johnny Depp used to be; his go to star. He has his biggest sucess in years with her in "Wenedsay".
  4. Cate should have played the Jaime Lee Curtis role. Once again I think the Pandemic just speeded up things that wold have happened anyway with streaming becoming a major player. It just would have taken a bit longer with no Pandemic. Yeah, Borderland just looked plain bad . And,yes,it does take more to get people into theaters then it used to. Even films that looked like fun like 'The Fall Guy" flopped. People in general have become alot more careful about how they spend their entertainment dollars. And I think inflation has cut into a lot of people's entretaiment budget.
  5. At least recently. The Johhny Weismuller Tarzan movies in the 30;s and 40;s were hugely sucessful.
  6. Joe Kubert is one of my favorite DC artists. I would much rather see an Sgt.Rock series, though. Or a Enemy Ace series. that might be Kubert;s best work.
  7. The going public smells like a attempt to raise some capital because the traditional sources are reluctant to fund Lionsgate.
  8. And that means shit to the Average Movie Goer. You do not make sequels to films that bomb the way that Eternals did. I have no doubt Eternals will show up in the MCU, but they will be like the Hulk and not get another solo movie for along, long, time. I also note that Feign has never felt compelled to follow the comic book storylines in the MCU. He often dratically changes then, I give you Civil War as an example. And I promise you he into going to make someone who had a failed solo film as a centerpiece of the Avengers movie. And I will take Variety over twitter accounts any day of the week.
  9. I see we have some fanboys who will stan for ANYTHING connected with the Spidey franchise.
  10. I am sure that "West Side Story" is pretty much a modern retelling of Romeo and Juliet has something t do with Ziegler doing the role.
  11. They had better keep the whole Elvis angle..that was a lot of the original's charm.
  12. It is saft to assume this will not be M Night's big comeback film. M Night will continue to be a niche director ..someone who can make profitibale modest budget films but will never be the huge A List director he was at one point. It is fascinating how one flop wrecked his career. Most directors who were as sucessful as M night was can withstand a flop, but he never really recovered from Lady In the Water.
  13. I still think if she could be talked into it, a Jodie Foster cameo could be fun. I read that Jodie was actually approahced by Disney to be the Mom in the 2003 film, but declined.
  14. Frontierland is a interesting place for it. At Disney in Anahemi, they put it in the Disney California Adventure park, not Disneyland proper.
  15. OM this is the first live action remake of a Disney animated film that has gotten me interestedin a long, long, time.
  16. Both Blunt and Pugh made a reputation in live theater before going into movies. That is a huge difference between the UK and the US; In the UK the normal route for any actor tis to spend some time early on in his career in live theater; in the US not so much. Of course I think that the live stage is the actor's native land, and he should occasionally go back to get his passport revnewed.
  17. The kind of feedback an actor can get from perfroming before a live audience is something you simply do not get with a movie.
  18. Daredevil Season 3 i DD:Born again is easily my most antipated Marvel project until Fantastic Four, I have always like the MCU/Cox version of Daredevilm and cheered like crazy when he did that cameo in Spiderman"NWH since I suspected it was not just there as a fun cameo, and DD was coming back to the MCU.
  19. Problem is that Warner;s over all losses can erase any profit those films make. I repeat, that Nine billion loss racked up by Warner's streaming just ate every penny of prodit WB will make from it;s threaticla movies, no matter how well they do.
  20. THIS. Even if Superman turns out to be an Avengers level hit, it will not be enough to get Save WB on itls own. Look at the nine billion 's worth of red ink it just got with its streaming That alone will eat up every penny of profit that it;s 2024 films will make leaving nothing for the stockholders
