Box Office Theory's Most Anticipated Films

    1. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2. Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 3. The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part 4. How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World 5. Missing Link 6. Mary Poppins Returns 7. Captain Marvel 8. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald 9. Farmageddon A Shaun the Sheep Movie 10. Shazam!
  2. It's Halloween season, so now would be the perfect time to watch it. It's really fantastic and definitely one of the creepiest Western animated movies. Also, both Nightmare before Christmas and Coraline were directed by Henry Selick. Poor guy always gets overshadowed by Tim Burton and is never given the credit he's due.
  3. Deserved drop for Bambi. Very dull and overrated movie imo. The Lion King did it 1000x better, and it actually has a plot.

  5. Not usually a fan of Ghbili films (or anime for that matter), but Ponyo was so gorgeous and cute I couldn't help but fall in love with it. I believe it;s the highest-ranked anime film on my list. Kiki's alright but somewhat uneventful. Haven't seen Nausica and Castle in the Sky yet. Tarzan is amazing of course, but I'm a Disney fanboy.

  7. Princess and the Frog is amazing, you guys! It's got gorgeous 2D animation (really, some of Disney's best), great songs, an iconic villain, a wonderful role model of a lead character, and very fun side characters! I personally consider it the start of the modern Disney revival.
  8. It’s a 2003 Afghan film called Osama. Not exactly an adaptation of the book but it tells a very similar story. Really good but quite depressing.
  9. My biggest (and perhaps only) problem with The Secret of the Kells is its weak ending. The movie ended so abruptly that it left a bad taste in my mouth despite how gorgeous it is. As for The Breadwinner, I suppose it’s not watered-down relative to most animated movies, but having read the book and seen a live-action adaptation of the story, this version just didn’t do it for me and wasn’t nearly as impactful. I might have liked it otherwise. You should really see Song of the Sea though. You might agree that it’s by far their best work.
  10. I personally find Song of the Sea to be Cartoon Saloon's strongest and most cohesive film. Both The Secret of Kells and The Breadwinner felt a little...incomplete and watered-down to me. Just like Laika, Cartoon Saloon is not the most consistent animation studio, but God do I appreciate what they're each doing.
  11. Criminally underrated movie. You should watch it for literally all of these reasons you stated and more. It's simply one of the most stunning animated films I've ever seen.

  13. Glad Cloudy made it. It's such a fun film! I was the other guy who voted for the sequel hehe; I disliked it the first time I saw it but loved it the second time. Too bad it didn't make it as well.
