  1. I hate to break so many hearts here, but with only (in my opinion) three major markets left to go (or at least to show up on the foreign page at Box Office Mojo)--France, Germany, and Japan--I really don't see The Bourne Legacy making more than $110 Million overseas. But Universal will probably make a sequel anyway.
  2. Wow. That's pretty harsh, isn't it? :mellow:Despite the failings in Whitney's personal life, the woman was an incredibly gifted singer with a true voice. None of us know what demons Whitney (or Heath Ledger, Amy Winehouse etc.) had in her life that paved the way to her addiction. Should her talent and appeal to millions of people around the world (which is an undeniable fact) be discounted because she chose that path?
  3. "Contrast that with the beautiful warm colors in Goa and Bourne running on the beach" ... next to the ocean. Don't forget that whole 'water' motif thing, too! I would love to watch movies with you. Supremacy is my favorite of the trilogy as well. I think the scene between Bourne and the Neski girl was incredible acting from Matt Damon. But dude ... he should have left her some serious money. I like to imagine her finding three stacks of $100 dollar bills after he left.
  4. Amen to that ... with all sincerity and respect. Tony Scott was an awesome human being.
  5. I actually don't think this film is going to hit $100 million. I believe this weekend's revenue was courtesy of the fans who heard the word of mouth, but wanted to see the film and form their own opinion. The Bourne Legacy would have done much better, and would have been much better received (at least by me), if it had been a stand-alone film without tying itself to Bourne. There were other title options, such as: The Cross Dilemma Code Name Cross Double Crossed The Aaron Cross Proxy Blue Pill, Green Pill The Pill of Life The Cross Fix The Cross Divide The Cross Option The Cross Addiction Operation Outcome The possibilities were endless.
  6. I'm sure most of the box office predictions for "Sparkle" were due to Whitney Houston's dead earlier this year, not her humble appeal as an actress. But perhaps you weren't aware that "Sparkle" wrapped production shortly before Ms. Houston's death.
  7. Cannon and principle characters? This is a 'no spoiler' thread so all I'll say is ... uhmm, oooo-kay. And I wouldn't classify this as a sequel at all. I'd call it a sidequel, a parallel story about a different agent with different concerns/problems/goals set in the same universe.
  8. The L.A. Times reported production budget as $130M, but Box Office Mojo lists the production budget as $125M.
  9. I think they'd really have to change Jason Bourne's character in order to have him team up in any way with Aaron Cross. The Treadstone agents were not genetically altered, they were naturally gifted soldiers who were 'conditioned' by behavior modifications (that's why they all had those horrible headaches) and whose skills were honed to the 4th power. Reading about Aaron Cross these past two days, it seems that he was an inadequate soldier (and man) who seemed to embrace the enhancements given him in the "Outcome" program because it made him 'special.' If I'm wrong about that, someone please correct my impression.I just don't see a Bourne/Cross film working unless the character of one or the other of them is changed. And who wants that?
