  1. Most Anticipated 2020 Blockbuster Tenet No duh a Christopher Nolan film is the most anticipated blockbuster of the year. Dude is great: even his weaker fare tends to be better than most directors. Time travel? Count me in! The teaser looks action-packed and this looks more like the return to traditional blockbusters like Inception/The Dark Knight than Dunkirk or Interstellar were. (Last year's pick: Detective Pikachu did not make the top 25 nor did it make the worst films. Disappointing movie but not entirely bad despite what @Plain Old Tele might think)
  2. Best PS4 Game Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order The best media Star Wars released all year last year was not in television or movies but in video game form. While it could have used more polish, especially in the art department, and a bit more testing, it's still a great game. I haven't beaten yet 'cause it's a bit too difficult for me even on the easier difficulty modes and I don't like that there's NO fast travel BUT the story is captivating, the characters are interesting, and it mostly plays well. This was the game to get for the PS4 this year and there's no real doubt about that. (Honorable Mention: Control) (Next up: Most Anticipated 2020 Blockbuster)
  3. Honorable Mentions These are four films that barely missed the Top 25. Downton Abbey Ready or Not The Two Popes A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood
  4. After only seeing 65 movies (down from 70 last year), I am ready to announce my top 25 of the year fro 2019. I will also do the following pop culture honors: Best TV Drama Best TV Comedy Best Computer Game Best Xbox One Game Best Nintendo Switch Game Best PS4 Game Honorable Mentions Worst Movies Most Anticipated 2019 Blockbuster Will your favorite movies make it on my list? Who knows!?
  5. It was such a bad bet on his part. No idea why he accepted it. When I brought it up I thought he was going to refuse it.
  6. Updated. Tree did not reach 10 points yet (but is close) so suspension lifted for now. We apologize for the mix-up. This is a reminder: if your points don't expire as they should contact me (2 weeks per point).
  7. It's a factory. Shouldn't impact quality. Derrickson was fired I guess for trying to break out of the MCU mold. Wonder how long that mold can stay fresh though.
  8. lol the MCU won the 2010s. Easily. Star Wars came close but then TLJ happened and TROS/Solo followed. But I think Spiderman Homecoming wasn't that good. Hard to get into it after Endgame. We'll see. But right now Phase Four should win the box office for a couple years.
  9. Very fun show. If you haven't seen it, I recommend it. It's the kind of show where solutions to life-and-death problems can lead to more problems. Plus the characters are pretty relatable.
  10. I should hide this post but I'm just going to shut this down: peddling conspiracy theories with no real evidence other than you heard from unknown online people is not a good look. I never said my theater said it looked like it was sold out: I knew going in it only sold a few tickets. I'm not even in the United States currently. I saw the movie in Mexico City and I imagine the dubbed screenings are selling better than the subtitled ones cause of the family/kid aspect of the movies.
  11. My 11 AM showing was almost empty. I got the trailer (not prologue) for Tenet and my dad was confused what it was supposed to be telling me it's not a good trailer for the GA. Also got a trailer for Top Gun: Maverick and a clever teaser for the new Minions movie. 3 trailers and a bunch of ads. Lol.
  12. I'm such a Star Wars fan I saw that Clone Wars movie in theaters. All these posers complaining about TLJ or TROS didn't.
  13. the one good thing is it looks like Cats will do less than Spider-verse so Tele will have to watch Detective Pikachu.
  14. Solo proved SW can't really be Marvel. Despite what fanboys on the internet says, the GA isn't really interested in seeing spin-off movies about characters: and most of Marvel is movies about a specific character. Rogue One maybe showed spin-off movies could work when exploring a different part of the world with new characters.
  15. Disney should reconvene and realize Star Wars isn't Marvel. Give audiences a bit of a break then come back. I don't mind Rian doing his trilogy, even though I'm not a fan of TLJ, because at least then it'll be one unified vision.
  16. 1) Until the next movie. Also audiences have started to be skeptical of "final" movie marketing. (And the GA won't differentiate between Rian's trilogy (if it happens), the spin-off movies, and any new movies from "the main saga") 2) TLJ has proven to be way too divisive I think in a way ESB and AOTC wasn't.
  17. It's hard to tell with the GA but so far I doubt it has better legs. Seems like the most common reaction is "meh" not "holy shit that was amazing you have to see it".
  18. As if it wasn't long enough as it is. JFC. People. Learn how to cut a movie to a proper length.
  19. I wouldn't worry about the next trilogy. After years of TV shows and spin-off movies, the next trilogy is going to act and feel like other franchises. TLJ didn't kill Star Wars. Disney did when Star Wars went from being special to just another franchise. Star Wars will likely never have the same success as it did with TFA/RO.
