    Considering how close TGM came to $100m, and now with the holds and numbers we’re seeing, surely we have to be considering it for Barbie.

    I know, I’m just being optimistic. I’d love to see another $100m film. If we’re still ~$10m in it’s 4th weekend then we really need to consider it.

    We have one IMAX here and Opp is sold out through to August 27th… that was as of the weekend so it’s probably later than that now

    $3m+ of business on a non-holiday is pretty great for cinemas.

    The wording is a little misleading. Barbie didn’t beat Endgame. Barbie (plus all other films) beats Endgame (plus all other films). Endgame was about $1.5-2m higher each day, compared to Barbie on her own. Still an incredible record to beat though. Not taking that away from it.

    Oh I absolutely agree. I just thought it was included as it wasn’t a full day.

    Riiiight.. so true OW records don’t include the Wed component here? But elsewhere, like US, they do?

    His only real interest is because it’s Barbie. I could send him AEG WW OW figures and the response would just be ‘cool’.
