    Except I reckon the low grosses are more due to it being available on VOD and it being in limited release. Why drive an hour out to support the film when you can pay 6 dollars at home?

    Big Bang theory collapse is simple. This latest season has had maybe 2 lol worthy moments. It's just lost the little bite that it had.

    What are you talking about? Avatar had a massive, massive marketing campaign. It opened to 70m despite the snowstorms (which helped the second weekend drop) and then WoM. You couldn't go anywhere without seeing Avatar or hearing about it from what I remember.

    ROTK is also a bad comparison because it had no cheap Tuesday.

    I don't know if it's directly comparable. BOFA has a holiday first Tuesday off a fairly bad Monday (historically) so it only makes sense Tuesday will increase by a good margin. Either way I'd expect BOFA to drop about 40-55% tonight, it's Christmas Eve plus coming off cheap Tuesday so it's drop should be a bit higher than Smaug.

    Plus, Tuesday was Christmas Eve for Smaug. The number isn't that bad but it doesn't make up for the bad Monday.
