I hope Scott isn't villain because it's just playing Moriarty all over again - playing two iconic villains in British lore? not happening. Anyway the Craig era seems like a really nice allusion to Nolan's TDK trilogy: CR/QoS were "Begins", setting up characters and overarching threat (Quantum), SF was TDK with being more standalone and a signature standalone villain (Joker/Silva), SPECTRE is the TDKR bringing it (Quantum/SPECTRE) all round.

I'd definitely agree July for a main/theatrical/2:30 trailer. Given how they'll have more footage at their disposal now than for Part 1 at that time, I really hope to see the trailer campaign go back to blockbuster levels. Not having something with Avengers 2 would be disappointing, perfect time to debut a teaser (if they really want they can have something tiny like the Capitol TV teasers with Insurgent, then bring out the big teaser with A2) followed by main/theatrical trailer in July at SDCC (they better do a proper panel with maybe an extended trailer/exclusive footage?), then final trailer October 29, same as always, in time for Bond 24. Having seen MJ1 I see why the trailer campaign was so tame this year...now they need to start and end with a bang.

To add to that, book fans and movie fans have different priorities when approaching an adapted film like this, and this does happen with the creative team too, Francis and co have been quite vocal in interviews about how they want to please the book fans. Likely, I may have posted this in the thread already, IMAX CEO said a while back that B24 will either be "formatted for IMAX" like Skyfall or shot with IMAX cameras. Shooting anamorphically on film gets rid of the former.

If the Waltz thing is true, I hope EON, if they want to save the reveal till the film, DON'T go down the JJ/STID/Khan route of focusing marketing around Oberhauser. Do it a bit more like Redford in TWS.
